this light is so bright you'll show all your friends. 2 of my coworkers bought one after seeing mine. i am currently using this as a headlight for my bicycle. it is durable and still bright after an hour of use. it is easy to recharge, and no you don't have to completely drain it before recharging. as with any nicad, if it hasn't been used in a couple of weeks, the first time or two back in service the use time will be shorter, but this will improve again with use. only cons: a little too bright for indoor or close up work, and the on/off switch is a little small. at 40 bucks this flashlight is a bargain! my coworkers and i all give it a thumbs up.Customer Review: Could be the perfect flashlight

I had a mental checklist of what I wanted in a flashlight and this model exceeded on all points. I needed something bright, light but durable, and wasn't going to break the bank on batteries. First off, this is probably one of the brightest lights you've ever seen. It can be dropped and keep on kicking. The aluminum housing makes it light enough to take along on any kind of trip. And it's rechargeable! It's been four months since the first charge and it's just as bright. Mind you, I don't use it all the time. Lastly, I can't help but wonder how effective it would be in self defence, should the need arise. For $40, you can't do any better.Customer Review: Very Satisfied...came back for more!

This rechargeable Dorcy light is by far the nicest & brightest plus longest lasting light we have ever found for a great price, too! Husband's job requires night shift work requiring steady use of a light in various weather conditions & this one by far beats all the others we have tried hands down. Only concern we have at this point is how many recharges the battery will go through so that is one reason we purchased a backup as the lights get used hard. Also, purchased two more for fellow coworkers after their first impressions regarding our Dorcy rechargeable LED flashlight.Customer Review: STURDY AND GOOD VALUE

We purchased this product for use in East Africa and to replace larger, more expensive rechargeable models. The unit has a reliable burn time of 2 hours and recharges from both AC (110-240 volts) and DC sources. Little touches make it a great product including features to keep it from rolling when placed on flat surfaces, flat handle surfaces to allow for easy grip and dust-proof recharging sockets. The only drawbacks are the reflector which offers a bright center spot but wastes the surrounding light and the fact that there is no charge indicator. Great value for the price.Customer Review: Well constructed but battery is an issue.

This is a very well constructed flashlight with an immensely bright beem. Its downfall however, as stated in previous reviews, is the NiCad battery which can not stay on the charger indefinitely. I was hoping that this light would come with a base or that I could at least rigg one so that I could mount it in my truck and have a good light handy when I needed it. The fact that I can't leave it plugged in makes this light bad for that application but, I don't regret buying it because it does make a good household light.
