Customer Review: Not bad for polyester fill.

I saw this pillow on sale, and I have to say it sounded great. It said "gel filled" and I thought that meant a a substance that was gel inside the pillow. This is inaccurate, the fill is polyester fiber. I have been sleeping on this pillow for a few days now, and I do find it comfortable, but I would not compare it to a down filled pillow (what I normally use). This, probably because it is still so new, has better shape than my other pillows, but I do not know how long this will last.
Over all, it isn't a bad pillow set at a decent price, but do NOT expect to get something that is "down like" or actually filled with gel to conform to your head/body.

Did you catch the Oprah show where she berates a relative for having not replaced some gross guest room pillows in years? Well, I'm not that relative, but I did decide to follow suit and order new pillows for our guest room. These pillows seemed more than adequate for periodic guests.
When they arrived, I was impressed and thought that they looked much higher quality than I expected for the price. I decided to try them out in our master bedroom.
After one night, we were sold and tossed out our old pillows. I had to come back and order another set for guests. At less than $10 a pillow, even if they only last a year, I am happy with this purchase.

I ordered these pillows because I needed a new down pillow and with my allergies, I thought that perhaps, if I changed to a synthetic pillow, my sinuses would be better in the morning.
Well....I bought new pillows at Sams because these pillows smell like hair dye! Hydrogen Peroxide smell...real bad. I have aired them on the back porch for days, fluffed them in the drier and they still smell.
Is this some kind of fumigation process that the China factory uses before they ship?
Edited on 10/16/08. Pillows still smell. I have had them on the guest bed for a year airing out. I may have to give in and throw them away.

With so many positive reviews, I thought I couldn't go wrong with these pillows. Sadly, they offer little to no support and have been relegated to be the decorative pillows that fill the shams on my bed. I also want a much firmer pillow. I would classify this as soft+, or a little firmer than soft, maybe approaching medium. This is NOT a firm pillow by any stretch of the imagination.

My next pillow purchase will be in person so I can actually ensure that I get a firm pillow.

These are such a great alternative to down. For all those animal rights activists out there (like me), and all of those cheap people who just don't want to spend the money on down (like my husband), these are perfect. They are GEL FIBER filled, not made of gel, and are very full and soft. If you like a smaller pillow, these are not for you, but they are soft and billowy, and even make a great body pillow if you get the king size. I am going to buy these for gifts for everyone I know. The price is phenomenal, and they sometimes go on sale for $18.99 with free super saver shipping...stock up if they do!
