Customer Review: I guess I lack the essential skills to make this work.

I tried to use this today - I got the double sided tape up onto my window and then was faced with the problem of how exactly to cut the giant piece of plastic down to just the right side. I wasted a good quarter of it trying to get it right. When I finally got a piece that I thought might be ok, I attempted to stick it up onto the double sided tape. But when I released the plastic, the tape would not hold the weight of it (it is very light), and the plastic just fell off. I read the instructions. I followed them. I gave up. Using the right amount of heat, it shrinks up real nice. When installed correctly, it works great. I have a window sill ledge I had to attach to because I used the 62" height for the entire window. Eventually the tape began to peel up from the stress of the "shrinked" wrap, but I kind of expected that to happen. Otherwise, the tape stuck securely, and I did not even use alcohol on the surface...because it is a stained surface which also is not recommended...but it's working. All and all, for not following the instructions and ignoring the recommendations, it is working very well.Customer Review: an annoying prodect for an already annoying project

This product comes as one long sheet that you cut yourself to size. We have windows slightly skinnier and slightly taller than the package of 42" x 62" for standard windows (Frost King brand), so we thought this product would work. We only managed to get two windows covered.
Getting the corners to align right is much easier on a factory cut edge.
I find the tape the window products come with as never sufficient and always suplement it with clear packing tape. The tape that came with this product was some of the least effective I've dealt with.

We received the kit in the mail this afternoon, earlier than expected. My boyfriend tried it on one particularly drafty window in our bedroom and we were so amazed by the difference he is running around as I am typing doing the rest of our windows. At first glance you can't even tell it's on the window, and when you put your hand up to it, there is zero cold and all drafts are gone. I bought mounting tape, but I didn't need it. He's using the double sided tape that came with it and it seems to be working great.Customer Review: Good but could use some improvements

Don't get me wrong, I do believe these work. They can be a bit frustrating to install however. The plastic is tough and resists tearing however I found it a bit difficult to cut. And somehow I wish the company would mark cutting lines on the plastic that would go away with heat.
Once I got the plastic up and applied the heat, these looked great and did what they advertised. I just believe you have to have the patience of a saint to be able to install more than 2 windows at a time.
