Tools and Hardware Reviews of Duracraft DWM250 2-1/2-Gallon Warm-Mist HumidifierCustomer Review: good but wish the tank was bigger, fussy product Summary: 4 Stars
This is a nice humidifier and I really appreciate the large tank opening for ease of cleaning and filling. However, I do wish the tank was larger. Set on high mist the water doesn't last very long and set to low mist just doesn't seem like enough mist. I wish the tank were larger so I could fill it once, set it to high mist, and have it last all night or close to it.
UPDATE -
I have two of these humidifiers and since my original review both have broken. The tank has to be placed on the base just right so that is presses a little button in and then produces steam. If you don't get the tank to press this button in at exactly the right spot no steam comes out. There have been days that I have repositioned the tank 5-10 times and still no steam. Very frustrating.
Customer Review: Good for small rooms Summary: 4 Stars
As I stated in a review of a bigger, evaporative style (fan forced vs. warm mist) humidifier, there is no perfect, portable humidity delivering device on the market today....from any manufacturer. They all have their limitations and all require regular maintenance.
This warm mist humidifier works well in a small room but would be overtaxed in larger spaces. It's quiet, a little gurgling when the water enters the heating chamber, and as far as it's tank capacity it does only hold about a gallon of water but will last the night on low. Try lifting 2.5 gals of liquid and you'll probably appreciate the smallish tank size.
Recommended for small bedrooms, just remember it emits steam and children love to stick their faces in humidifier vapor.
Customer Review: A BIT DECEPTIVE, A BIT GOOD Summary: 3 Stars
IT IS DECEPTIVELY ADVERTISED FOR THE CAPACITY IS PROBABLY .5 GAL AS OPPOSED TO THE ADVERTISED 2.5 GAL, SO IT IS NOT SUITED FOR A ROOM LARGER THAN 200 SQ FT.
IT IS VERY QUIET, IF YOU DON'T MIND THE GENTLE WATER GURGLING AS THE TANK EMPTIES---I ACTUALLY FIND IT SOOTHING.
THE STARTUP PROCEDURE IS CUMBERSOME, AS YOU MUST DIAL THE HUMIDIFICATION LEVEL, AS WELL AS ACTICTIVATE A SEPARATE TURN ON LEVER;
YOU CAN NOT BE CERTAIN UNTIL THE MIST RISES SEVERAL MOMENTS LATER, THAT YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY ACTIVATED THE MACHINE.
THE AESTHETICS ARE VERY PLEASING---SLIM LINE AND PLEASANT TO LOOK AT.
THE WATER TANK SEEMS STURDY, WATER TIGHT AND EASY TO FILL, TRANSPORT AND INSTALL.
Customer Review: Duracraft Warm Mist Humidifier Summary: 5 Stars
I have used this particular humidifier in the past and have been very pleased. I tried a cool mist humidifier and wasn't satisfied with the results. They are way too noisy and do not really put enough moisture in the air. I bought 2 of the warm mist humidifiers and now use them to keep the humidity level up in my condo.
The down side is that you have to keep filling the canister, but that's only because it's so efficient at producing humidity. I have learned from owning these types of humidifiers that regular maintenance is a must. If you pour a little lime and calcium remover in the reservoir about once every 2 weeks and let it soak it's very easy to keep clean.
Customer Review: GREAT HUMIDIFIER !!! Summary: 5 Stars
THIS Duracraft DWM250 2-1/2-Gallon Warm Mist Humidifier WORKS AS BETTER THAN MANY OTHERS I HAVE USED IN THE PAST. EASY TO REFILL AND STARTS TO HUMIDIFY WARM MOIST VAPORS IN 5 MINUTES. I HAVE SINCE PURCHASED 2 MORE. IT WILL GO THROUGH ITS CONTAINER OF WATER IN ABOUT 10 HOURS ON HIGH SETTING. ALSO HAS AUTO SHUT OFF WHEN EMPTY. I PURCHASED THESE AFTER MY DOCTOR ADVISED ME TOO FOR MY YOUNG DAUGHTER TO USE IN WINTER. I ALSO LOOKED AT HONEYWELL, BUT AFTER READING REVIEWS I DECIDED TO GET THIS ONE.
