This a wonderful little generator that does what it is intended to do, like Powering a lamp or fridge...'it really pisses mr off to read these reviews where folks think they can run a microwave, fridge, computer all at once.... This is perfect for a leaf blower, running the fridge and a lamp, power tools, etc... it started 2nd pull and I have used it quite hard the last few months...I bought this generator because I have 6 month old twin boys and we were expecting a northeaster snowstorm back in January including high winds and ice storms... We lost power for 6 hours and this little guy ran great! I was able to use the fridge, lamp and TV we swapped the fridge out to run the microwave etc... It paid for itself during this winter because we lost power several times and having the twins all the food in the fridge and freezer we saved and most importantly we didn't have to leave the house and put the kids and ourselves in jeapordy... I just recently used the generator in a Amature Radio Special Event where it powered a power supply and a laptop to run the radio... The Hertz hold steady... I would never jepordize a $2000 radio if I didn't think this was a good generator... It is quieter than I thought. As far as the gas goes, I can't really say because during the storm I was running it hard and ran about 4 hours on a tank... During the radio event it ran 6 hours and never missed a beat either time... Don't expect miracles and light your 4000sf home folks! Excellent product. I saw someone using one of these at a campground and was impressed by the noise level. Now that said, understand that this is only a 1200 watt surge rating, 1000 watt continuous. I looked at others that had a 1200 watt surge, but only 800 wats continuous. I also read somewhere that this particular unit used copper windings, while some others use aluminum. Don't know if thats true, but it was worth considering. What really put me over the top was Amazon's free shipping. It took about 1 week to receive a notice that the unit was shipped and that it could be expected to arrive in about 7 days. It arrived in only 2!!! Do exactly what they tell you in the owners manual before starting it. Mine started on the fifth pull (probably because I forget to turn the switch on!!) But it statred on the first pull thereafter. You can easily stand over it and carry on a conversation without shouting, and walking 10 feet away is not an issue. No smoking like most 2 cycles I've owned. Suggestions: Buy a good surge protector/power strip (only has 1 outlet), buy 2-cycle oil in the tiny bottles already measured for 1 gallon of 50:1, and buy a 1 gallon can and label it "50:1" and mixup 1 gallon at a time. Try to avoid mixing the oil and gas in the tank-one slipup and you're emptying the tank to try again. (The measurer they give you in the tank cap is not labelled and I can't figure out what the lines mean). It does just what it says it does. would definitely buy another. Let me say first of all that I just got this generator yesterday. Delivery was VERY fast I had no problems. I ordered the generator on Sunday night about 9pm and had it just after noon on Tuesday. Some of the reviews on here said that the generator came damaged but mine showed up in mint condition.
The generator seems very well built, nothing that screams cheap plastic that wont last. I followed the instructions on starting it for the first time and on about the 9th or 10th pull of the cord it fired up and ran great. After allowing it to run for a few minutes I got out my shop-vac and hooked it up, it ran the shop-vac with no problems.
I bought this generator for tailgating at THE Ohio State University and we will use it for the first time this weekend so I will follow up these initial impressions with more information after that.
For $129 and free shipping I dont think you can beat this deal.
Follow-up: We used the generator on Saturday for the Ohio State game. It fulfilled all of our expectations. It easily ran a 32 inch LCD TV and satellite receiver for 5 hours before the game and the entire game with only one refill of the gas tank (it wasnt completely full to begin with either). We put the generator at the front of my truck and watched TV on the tailgate and forgot the generator was even running. The sound is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

The construction of this generator is as cheap as its price. I could not get it started out of the box. It turned out that the tie-in between the spark plug and the plug wire was a cheap coil that had two small flanges that poked into the plug wire through two small holes in the wire. This very insecure connection was loose. When I seated it correctly, the generator started, but its vibrations soon broke the connection. Fixing it was difficult because the connection tended to come loose most of the time when you slid the overly snug boot over the plug-coil-wire connection. You have to do this to avoid a potentially dangerous spark near the gas and/or a short. Any way, what I finally did was to use electrical tape to hold the coil wires in place where they went into the plug wire. Then I split the boot so I could get it around the connection without disturbing it and put electrical tap around the boot to suppress any stray spark. Since then it has worked fine, and for the money, is great. Paired with a 16 inch Black and Decker trimmer, it cut my time to trim bushes in half compared to having to run electrical chords all the way from the house. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. The machine is cheaply constructed, but it is a sixth of the price of a good small generator like a Honda. If you have the inclination and skills to tinker with it, it is a good deal. If you don't, it may give you no end of grief.Customer Review: Outstanding Performance!

I originally purchased this generator for tail gating to power a fan when it is 100 degrees in the shade here in Texas. It was small enough for me to lift and wouldn't be a storage problem. That is true, but......
Before I could even think about the next football game, Hurricane Ike hit. This generator was a champion. Even though small, it kept my small upright freezer going and saved the food in it as well as the food in the refrigerator's freezer. I would let the freezer run for 3 or 4 hours, then changed to a 19" TV, satellite receiver, and 2 small lamps in the evening. This baby just kept on running. Eventually, I even added my laptop computer and my cable internet connection, but I did turn off one of the lamps. It even ran a small 4 cup coffee pot each morning.
I was never able to put a full gallon of gas in, but that didn't seem to bother anything. It never stopped unless I turned it off and I ran it for up to 4 1/2 hours at a time. It isn't quiet - but even with the windows open, if I closed the door the noise became just a constant hum.
I highly recommend this for anyone in hurricane country or anyone else who needs a little added boost for camping or tail gating or whatever makes you happy. It is a wonderful, reliable product. For the price, I don't think it can get much better than this.
