I bought this thermostat control for use with a heater for keeping a battery warm during the winter. Last winter the battery heater was always on to keep the battery warm to start an automatic generator. The heating during times when the temperature warmed up resulted in a damaged battery. This thermostat is just the right temperature range. After reading the negative review, I tested all three devices by cycling the temperature from 10-60 degrees F several times to verify they are working correctly.Customer Review: At your own risk

Failed during first use with a heat lamp.
Luckily I went and checked, or I would have been replacing
my deep well pump.

For plants outside that can't take the cold. Great value for this type of product
