The way I understand it, these bags are biodegradable in your "municipality" and take anywhere from 9 to 24 weeks. I not sure if this is made for home compost use (taking a long time to decompose). If your getting them for your "garbage pick-up" and not pressed for time, these will be great!Customer Review: compostable

Here in San Francisco, we have to compost our food garbage, and these bags fit nicely into the compostable bins supplied by the garbage company. Even though they are only 1 gallon, a lot can be put into them. There is no smell as these bags are high quality.Customer Review: Make Composting Cleaner!
