Customer Review: Can Someone Please Answer My Question About This Vacuum?

I have not bought/owned, nor have I ever used this vacuum, but am considering buying it and had a couple of questions if someone who has it wouldn't mind answering. I live in a 3 floor home with primarily hardwood floors, but I have area rugs in most rooms, as well as runner rugs in each hallway. I also have a white cat who sheds all over them. I'm looking for an appliance that is fairly inexpensive and simple, but works well to thoroughly pick up everything from both rugs and hardwood floors (and in a perfect world one that also has a setting to actually clean/disinfect as well, although I know this doesn't do that). Is this vacuum effective on pet hair, both loose and more stuck into the rugs? Also, how is it on hardwood floors (i.e as a broom replacement, etc.)? Thanks!
