Tools and Hardware Reviews of Electrolux EL 7020B Oxy3 Ultra Canister VacuumCustomer Review: amazed Summary: 5 Stars
I have to say, I really didn't know how well my vacuum was not working until I took a big leap and bought this vaccuum. I consider myself a pretty clean person, thoroughly cleaning the house about once per week. I have always had an upright, but since I have a 2 story looked into the canister. This vaccuum is so quiet and easy to carry. It is a bit odd to pull the vaccuum behind, but the the job it does and the ease I can change the tools from floor to cleaning the blinds is great! I have a thicker carpet higher pile carpet, which I was concerned about the cannister based on reviews, but this Vaccuum automatically adjusted itself and really sucks and digs into the carpet. You don't feel the need to continuously go over areas that are higher traffic because it does such a great job the first time around. Pet hair is no problem for this vaccuum. Also I am a longtime allergy sufferer, and dust and allergens are not kicked up like they typically are. I also use it for all hard floors and it is great. For stairs and car vacuuming I highly recommend the powerbrush attachment. Before purchasing it, I was leary on the price because for me that is quite a bit of money. But I am so happy with it, it was well worth the dent in the pocket book.
Customer Review: Electrolux EL 7020B OXY3 Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the Electrolux EL 7020B Oxy3 canister vacuum several months ago, and have been very pleased with its performance so far. My family had Electrolux vacuums when I was growing up, so I was familiar with the Electrolux quality in vacuums. I realize, however, that the current Electrolux company has changed hands over the years and is not the original Electrolux company. I decided to buy the vacuum anyway since my upright vacuum was just too cumbersome and heavy to push around.
The Electrolux is lightweight and the large wheels make it easy to move around. One of the most convenient features is the buttons on the handle to the turbo cleaner -- on/off switch, variable suction button, carpet/bare floor buttons are all easily located on the handle that pushes into the wand that goes into the turbo cleaner brush.
It cleans extremely well on both the bare floor and carpet mode, and I can easily clean under beds with the turbo cleaner attached to the wand.
The Electrolux is exactly what I wanted in a new vacuum -- easy to move around, effective and efficient cleaner with HEPA filter with enough tools to do a thorough cleaning job.
Customer Review: Buy Miele, as you get what you pay for!!!!! Summary: 2 Stars
Check for Warranty Repair Locations at the website prior to purchase... Our machine worked well given the positive Consumer Reports rating and low price for 6.5 months. After that time, it failed to turn on. The only repair location was a UPS trip away and it had to be fixed out of warranty, which means out of pocket. Electrolux Customer Service is abysmal! After calling and checking the website for repair locations and finding none within reasonable range, I proceeded to send an email to request a perhaps unknown site. They responded 1 week later without detail and simply suggested I consult the website for alternatives. By that time the machine had already been fixed, without their help, out of warranty, and for 25% of purchase price. The entire circuit board needed to be replaced, which I have found to be a common problem and no easy task to fix at home. Steer clear of this machine if you dont want hidden costs associated with sudden failure and inept and nonexistent customer service. We miss our pricey, but oh so reliable, Miele that was worth every penny! A vacuum should last more than 6.5 months!
Customer Review: Disappointing Summary: 2 Stars
The canister is lightweight, quite powerful and reasonably quiet. BUT the power nozzle is heavy, noisy and turns in only one direction. The power nozzle also is self-propelled and takes the person vacuuming on a speed race around the carpet.
The floor brush is wide and makes for quick cleaning of wide expanses of floor. BUT, it is so wide as to be awkward getting into corners and around furniture.
The telescoping wand is convenient. Storage of two of the tools on the handle is not; the tools keep falling off.
The power cord is short.
The hose is too flexible; it kinks easily.
I would prefer to have the on/off button on the handle of the cleaner not the cannister.
I have had this not even a week, and already I am disappointed in both the design and the materials used in construction.
Added three days after the intial review:
The crevice brush is not long enough to reach in many common crevices, such as those in a car or under a refrigerator.
The prongs of the plug had to be separated a bit so the plug does not fall out of the wall socket.
Customer Review: Cleaning Machine!! Summary: 4 Stars
I have been using this machine for a while now and could not be more pleased with its performance. It runs quiet and has a lot of suction. After doing some extensive research on vacuums I decided on this unit. While there were some complaints about reliability, I went ahead and got a refurbished unit. Not only did I save some money, I figured that a repair of a failed componant and a second inspection would be benificial towards a more reliable machine. The vaccum looked like it had hardly been used with one little scratch on it.
The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars was the fact that the power head is about as loud as the last upright I had and not as quiet as the canister. But the power head does clean remarkably well. We have 2 dogs and it gets the dog hair very well. The bags are small but that is just as well since all that nasty dirt does not sit in the vacuum too long. The bags are cheap and changing them is an easy task that takes just seconds.
I would recommend this vacuum to friends and family...it truly is a great cleaning machine!
