Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka 61110B Style "R" Extended Life Vacuum Belt

Customer Review: Eureka the Boss Smart Vac and belt
Summary: 2 Stars

I'm just unbelievably unhappy with this machine, the frequency with which the belt breaks, and the awkwardness of using it. A well-known consumer magazine rates this model highly and that is why I bought it. However after fighting the machine to get it into nooks and crannies and to do an adequate job on bare floors, I can only conclude that the testers vacuumed both carpets and floors in rooms that had less than the average amount of furniture in them. Just try vacuuming under your dining room table, carpet or floor, with this oaf of a machine and see if you don't want to pull your hair out. It would be a blessing to see the manufacturers return to the inclusion of a special floor accessory brush that they gave us for so many years. The vac just doesn't get the job done.

Customer Review: Is this the right belt?
Summary: 3 Stars

I'm hoping this is a true 3 star rating, and not less. I received the belt in an envelope, there was no packaging for the belt itself, so there is no way of knowing if it's the right size. Also there is no way of knowing if it's truly a "Eureka" belt as shown in the picture or if it's a generic version. My guess is generic. I would think it would have had a plastic bag on it marking what it was... or at least some markings on the belt itself. I have an older vacuum and was ordering other parts (bags, filters, etc), so I also ordered a "just in case" belt. I guess I will just have to wait and see if this one will work if/when the belt actually breaks.

Customer Review: Surprised how easy it is to break a belt
Summary: 3 Stars

I use my vacuum most commonly on a room that has indoor/outdoor carpet. So the height adjustment is one or two notches away from bare floor. With this adjustment the very first time I used the vacuum I broke a belt!!! I believe it resulted from putting the vacuum back in the upright locked position while the vacuum was still on and the brush was still spinning. Doing this seems to put a great amount of stress on the brush spinning process. Therefore causing the belt to snap!

I would suggest ALWAYS turning the vacuum off before putting it in the upright locked position. Just in case I forget, I bought two more belts!

Customer Review: The belt broke AGAIN!!
Summary: 2 Stars

Right after the belt breaking might not be a good time to rate this..., or maybe it is.

At the rate we are going through belts on this machine, I'm not inclined to buy this vacuum again when we need to replace it. Granted - the vacuum is getting old and beat up. Perhaps it is something wrong there. The height adjustment doesn't seem to work right. It adjusts some, but not significantly. Maybe that is the problem.

Whatever it is, is frustrating! The belts cost too much and last too little. If they don't break, they stretch. Either way, with a broken or stretched belt, the vacuum doesn't work.

Customer Review: fast service
Summary: 5 Stars

I found that the drive belt that I use for my Eureka Vacuum was not available in the stores. I found this strange because they all carried the vac that uses the R Style belt. So, I had to order it on the internet. Wanting to be able to use the vac as soon as possible, I feared that it would take many days to receive it. I was very happily surprised that it took only a few days. It did cost more with shipping, but I figured it was evened out by not using the gas in my car to go into town, which is about ten miles away. Good service.
