I bought 2 of these vacuums last Christmas. One for me and one for my daughter as a Xmas present. My daughter opened it Christmas eve day because it was her turn to host our annual Xmas celebration. It's not a very big apartment and the living room is the only room with a rug. She cleaned the rug and was amazed at the powerful suction (It took her for a walk!) she was happy with it until she was almost finished going over the rug one last time for good measure. It started smoking near the wheel. My daughter then asked to borrow mine the day after Xmas. I had not had a chance to use it yet but was happy to lend it to her because I felt bad that the one I bought her had croaked the first day she used it.
She brought it home and vacuumed her rug and AGAIN, the same thing happened. It started smoking near the wheel. two vacuums, both lasted a day. It was more than disappointing. I could deal easily with this if it was just one vacuum that faulted but I bought TWO at the SAME TIME and BOTH died within A DAY of each other the FIRST TIME they were used! I know NO vacuum is perfect and they all break down within months to several years but two vacuums the first day??
The good thing about this vacuum was the powerful suction. I mean it has POWERFUL suction!

I really really hate anything to do with a vacuum cleaner. I do vacuum on a regular basis but even looking at a vacuum cleaner annoys the hell out of me. I find them so tedious, heavy, loud and always breaking. That being said, this little machine is really pretty cool. I shopped with the express purpose of buying a cheap machine this time. Seems like the more you pay the heavier it is and the more that can break on it. This vacuum cleaner really picks up quite well. It is so light weight that I am no longer annoyed and irritated at having to lug it around. I was really surprised at all the dirt in the cup.
Kind of gross I guess in that my house must have been dustier and dirtier than I ever imagined. I do vacuum every week and Swiffer too. But this machine really does suck up the dirt really well.
It is really easy to move around and transport and who would not love that happy yellow color. The only cons I noticed this first day were that the accessory brush does fall off and the hose pulled out more than once from the bottom. But maybe I did not jam it in firmly enough. Overall I am delighted with the performance of this cleaner especially for what I paid, $59 at Kmart. I would definately buy this machine again.
Customer Review: Terrible for hard floors - bad for pet hair

I saw this item when looking for a new vacuum to replace it and felt compelled to review.
First the good (why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1) - it's light weight, decent suction, easy to empty, and inexpensive.
Unfortunately, the design flaws make it a terrible for choice for hard floors and anyone with animals.
The biggest problem is the motor vents to the front; thus air from the motor blows dust, hair and light debris out of your way before the vacuum can pick it up - this presents a major problem trying to suck up pet hair from hard wood floors (I end up pulling the vacuum instead of pushing it).
The internal tube is narrow and corrogated in places, so it quickly clogs with hair and you lose suction. I have to remove the filter, unscrew the hosing on the internal tube from the back and poke it out with a coat-hanger every month or so.
After about 6-months, something has gone wrong internally with the motor on the head that I haven't been able to diagnose. It still works but it is incredibly LOUD now.
It may be fine for someone with a carpeted home and no pets, but I'm replacing mine.

This is the first vacuum I have purchased for our new apartment. It works great, has good suction and is easy to push and pull around. Not too heavy, not too tall, and fits nicely in my hall closet. The power button is big and red and very easy to push with your foot.
A few issues. The light does not need to be on ALL the time. I wish it flattened just a bit more so I could push it under shorter furniture. It's a little loud, but it's not too bad really.
Clean this filter dry. I made the error of trying to wash it, and all I did was triple my work, kill a toothbrush, and make a mud patty in the sink. It's faster, easier, and cleaner to brush it clean with a toothbrush over the trashcan, and without water. Once it gets too dirty to clean dry, THEN I will wash it again. The hose is flexible enough for me to get into anything, but DO use the attachment wand of brush, otherwise the suction's not that great on the hose.
But the vacuum is easy to use. I empty out the tank of dustiness every time I use it, just the filter a brushing, and everything snaps back together without hassle.

Moved into a new home. Wanted a brand new vacuum for my brand new carpets, decided to try a bagless model. This thing is a total waste of money. It has barely any suction whatsoever, especially when trying to use the hose, so for now after running this thing I have resorted to getting down on my hands and knees and raking my hand in a circular motion one square foot at a time across the carpets, to pick up lint and people hairs and fuzz from a brand new carpet that this thing just couldn't suck up. It's ridiculous,it's a brand new vacuum! I have never had to do this with any other vacuum. I had my husband make sure it was working right and it is, it just has a very weak suction. This thing is going back to the store and I am getting my money back and using it to buy a better vacuum. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Also, I have always vacuumed my bare floors instead of sweeping, and this thing is supposed to work on bare floors (well, they all pretty much do that job, but for some reason this has a bare floor setting, whoop de do!)it wont even pick up a little dust on my bathroom floor, nor can it suck up a cobweb! DON'T BUY!
