Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka LightSpeed Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 4700DCustomer Review: Ode To A Vacuum Summary: 5 Stars
From the store to your door
with shipping for free
Five-minute assembly
that's super E-Z
It glides o'er the floor
without breaking a sweat
And sucks up all the dirt
On that you can bet
What reason is there
to spend more you ask
I can't think of one
given the task
It seems well designed
and cleanup's a breeze
But do it outdoors
'cause the dust makes you sneeze
And always be sure
that the filter is cleaned
Each time you are finished
with this little machine
If you do you'll be happy
as I am with mine
And your new dirt-free floors
will make you feel fine
Oh sure you could spend
what it takes for a Dyson
But your wallet will feel
as if hit by Mike Tyson
And your floors sure can't tell
that your checkbook's been cleaned
Just so you can brag
of your super machine
So take my advice
and buy one of these
With the money you save
you can do as you please!
Customer Review: Great Value Vacuum Summary: 4 Stars
Our last Eureka's motor burned up and I didnt want to spend a fortune for just a vacuum. After reading previous reviews, I had minor reservations about this vacuum, but after a month of owning it, I think its an incredible value.
There are some minor issues previously stated that are valid: yes, sometimes the hose comes disconnected. Yes, sometimes the brush falls off. Yes, the actual ease of use (engineering) could have used some tweaking - like the cord wrap area and how the cord can get wrapped around the hose.
But you know what? Its a $70 vacuum!
We have hardwood floors and 2 dogs and 1 cat. We're vacuuming alot! The canister is very easy to empty and doesnt make a mess. The suction is wonderful! The brush attachment works great on upholstery, and the swivel head of the hose makes it such an ease. Assembly was a breeze and its so light-weight. I actually enjoy vacuuming now.
Please be ware: it is a canister. You do have to empty it and clean the filter, just like the $400 vacuums. Get over it.
Customer Review: The 1st review is WRONG! Summary: 5 Stars
The previous 1st review of this vacuum is absolutely wrong and is probably referring to a different model. 1st of all, this model DOES NOT have a Hepa filter. So there is no way the door holding the filter on could be coming loose, since it doesn't exist. 2nd of all, this vacuum is surprisingly very light. And is probably the lightest vaccuum of it's size. Lastly, as of this date, this model is brand new, and has only been on the market for a few weeks, so there is no way anyone could have had it for a few months. Also, to get service on a Eureka vacuum under the warranty, you only need to take it to a authorized repair shop. There are many of these in most major cities.
I have only had this vacuum a few weeks, but it works well. It seems to be constructed well, and will hopefully last longer then my previous Eureka, which only went for 1 year, but this one seems to be constructed better. I especially like the auto height adjustment feature, and the fact that this vaccum is light and easy to maneuver. In my opinion it is a good buy for the price.
Customer Review: Important and Overlooked Design Issues Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased THIS machine because I needed something that a small person could haul up and down stairs, because the model I currently own puts more dirt on the floor than it takes off, and because of the price. However, I overlooked a couple of important engineering issues. It has a poorly placed exhaust port which tends to push the dirt away from the inlet, especially on hard surfaces or when pursuing detritus not adhering strongly to the carpet. This will require installation of a custom deflector to make the machine usable. It also should have a way to disengage the roller brush so that it works well on non-carpeted surfaces. I have not owned it long enough to decide whether (1) the bagless design is practical; (2) the seals are durable; and (3) the parts are falling off with an annoying frequency. I suspect that by the time I can make a ruling on these features, Amazon won't be carrying this product and I will really wish I had purchased the Dyson, in spite of the huge price difference. The price may be good, but the cost may be bad in the long run.
Customer Review: Fantastic! Picks up all the Gick! Summary: 4 Stars
I have been a vacumn snob for the last 20 years. I thought that the only good vacumn was an expensive Oreck. But my Mom bought one of these vacumns and FORCED me to check it out.
I was amazed! This little miracle worker picks up the stuff my Oreck has been leaving behind for 20 years. It's great on pet hair and also sucks up all the fine silt that is buried in my carpets. I thought I would hate the bagless system but I actually like knowing that an area is clean by watching what is collecting in the canister. Dumping it nd cleaning the filter is a minor irritation but again it's worth it to me because I know it's picking up all the GICK! It's true that it doesn't perform well on tile or hardwood floors but I could care less because its a champ on the carpets. I just sweep everything onto the carpets and vacumn it up. I have purchased 3 of these vacumns for work and home and all 3 are top notch performers. And the affordable price is just the bonus!!!
I listed my Orecks on Craigslist and said Hasta la Vista without regret!
