I bought this because buying a candle (risking fire damage and that horrible smoke smell after you blow them out) was getting expensive and troublesome. Did some searching on LED candles and this came up. I've got it on right next to me as we speak. For some reason I just like candles so having this thing next to me feels like a real candle without the smell and smoke and worry about having to shut it off when I leave. Yes, blowing it out works beautifully. The only negative = its a block of plastic so it doesn't "look" like a candle but I'll sacrifice that to run it all night long. I like it!
To get to the battery compartment you have to unscrew the bottom with a small screwdriver. But other than that, this candle flickers and works perfectly in a dark room!
Oh and the supplier shipped this thing in record time! I ordered this and got it in two days. Thank you!

I have several different types of battery operated candles and I agree with other reviewers that the candle does not look as realistic as some of the waxy brands, as it's a hard white plastic. The candle is slightly wider than the standard votive, but everything I wanted it for it was the perfect size being a little wider than a regular votive candle.
But what sets this candle apart from all others is the blow out feature to turn it on/off. It's cool how it works: if you blow on the flame it turns it on and off (once the bottom is switched to "on"). My kids love this! There are small holes on the top which contain the sensor that allows the candle to light, and there are 3 small feet on the bottom. The candle came with AA batteries already installed which was convenient. You will need a tiny phillips screwdriver to remove them.

I bought 2 of these blow out flicker votives. However, I do think they're a little pricey for what they are. The flicker is nice and realistic, but they do not look like candles. I would not recommend these for clear votive holders, they're also a little big. Also, I have a very difficult time blowing them out but then I have asthma, maybe that has something to do with it. Also, shipping to me took a while, don't know why. All in all they're different, but since they don't look like candles, they should be priced a little lower.Customer Review: Excellent safe alternative to candles.

These candles are great! They have the flickering glow of a candle without the fire hazard. I would recommend these to anyone wants to burn candles around pets, children or locations where fire hazards make it undesireable. To be honest, I have reached for items behind these candles and could have sworn I felt heat from the flame...simply a psychological reponse though....these produce no noticable heat. Sorry, I was disappointed because my main purpose was to reflect the flame throug the colored votive holder. Did not work too well. However
the blowing out of a LED candle had everyone fasinated..Blowing on and off all the time. But that was not what my main reason was for purchase.
I wanted a candle that project more then a weak flame.
