Tools and Hardware Reviews of Everpure H-300 Replacement CartridgeCustomer Review: Great tasting water. Summary: 5 Stars
We just bought a house that had the Everpure water system hooked up to the Sub-Zero refrigerator to filter the drinking water and ice dispenser. We usually drink bottled water, and have it delivered once a month. The water from the refrigerator did not taste as good. Then I noticed that the previous owner had marked the installation date on the Everpure cartridge. It was over two years old.
So we ordered a replacement cartridge to give it a try. Because it is attached to the refrigerator instead of the sink faucet, we had to run it for about 3 times longer than the instructions stated to get the water right. Then we did a blind taste test at my house vs. the bottled water (no joke). It ended up in a draw. The Everpure made the water taste much better...every bit as good as our bottled water. We decided to keep our bottled water, though, because the refrigerator dispenser is not as convenient for the kids.
This is a great product and I would highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Excellent consistent filter Summary: 5 Stars
We have a family of four and a ton of house plants. We use this for all of our drinking water , making juice, coffee, tea and it also supplies the ice maker and water dispenser in our fridge. We use it to water the jungle of house plants and for everything we cook or boil. Our water is rather nasty and this filter takes the ugly taste and the chlorine taste and smell out. One filter lasts us about 10 months. After wasting way too much money on counter top and faucet units, this has been a lifesaver. It's not cheap but when I divide the cost by 10 months and considering all the use we get out of it, it's actually very inexpensive, about 27 cents per day. Bottled water can't touch that price. We are on our third one and I am very happy with the results.
Customer Review: Leaves a flim on water. Summary: 1 Stars
I've been using this filter for almost 6 mo. and I've noticed that when I fill a cup of water and let it sit for an hour or so, it develops a film on the surface.
What this film is? I have no idea? But that really doesn't instill confidence in the quality of this filtration system.
I think it's coming from the filter itself. Because my plain tap water doesn't develop this film.
I was hoping that it would go away over time, but it's still leaving this film on the surface of the water.
Soon as the life cycle of the cartridge is over, I will be switching back to the "WATTS" 5 stage reverse Osmo. system from Costco. ($199) IMHO, it's a much better filtration system.
Customer Review: Good product Summary: 4 Stars
I've been using this system of water filtration for years. I love it. I'll never buy bottled water or those filtration systems that sit in a pitcher in your fridge. The water tastes clean and fresh - like you always expect it to taste. My coffee maker does not develop deposits from hard water anymore. We use this filtered water for everything now. Short of showering! A note to the customer service... It has been good. The cartridges are cheaper here than anywhere I've found locally and I recently got a cartridge that isn't working as well as the others have. Customer Service has responded quickly and is sending me a replacement. That's all I could ask for!
Customer Review: Great tasting water, easy to use, BUT you may need to replace quickly Summary: 3 Stars
Great tasting water, dead simple to install and maintain, but it can get clogged very easily such that water flow slows to a very low rate ie. 15 mins/gal!
After two weeks the filter slowed to a nearly unusable flow rate. I found out that this is because it has a small micron filter and any sediment that comes into the filter will begin to clog it. So, if they dig up a pipe around you and some dirt flows in your filter, or if you have a bit heavy sediment the flow will be greatly reduced to the point of being useless.
So far it seems you need to also install a prefilter to prevent this.
