I bought this because my water heater is in my garage, so every time I open the garage, the water heater gets cooled down. This item works very well at keeping the water warm longer.
I also habitually shut off my water heater when I leave for the day, but I'm not as compulsive about turning it back on. And I've had enough water to hand wash dishes and get in the shower on several occasions. Towards the end of the shower, I may notice a bit less heat. Once I inadvertently left it off for two days, and STILL had enough warm water to shower comfortably. And I have long hair.
It's a cheap investment in saving energy. I would recommend this to everyone who can safely use it.
