Although I'm new to woodworking, I can already tell that this is going to be a tool that I use a lot. It's well-made and well-designed. My old scribe tool worked but I knew there was a better. This is the better way. I look for opertunities to use it. Like any good tool. . . it makes the work fun and the day go that much better. This scribing tool is very handy for scribing arcs and marking off lines parallel to an edge. Simple to use and very accurate. The thumb screws have to be secured very tightly, or the settings may move. Not a huge deal, just be sure to give them a good hard twist.Customer Review: Nice tool

The joint makes it easy to work with. The only thing I would like to see changed is the pencil holder. I would like to be able to use a mechanical pencil or pen. I have many dividers or compasses and this one is much easier to use. It gets into areas the others can't. Its pretty easy to adjust. I install cabinets and I scribe all my spacers to fit tight against the wall and this tool handles this without problem.
