Works great. Takes 30 seconds or less to get to full brightness. Doesn't get as hot as a regular light bulb which is a plus for holiday decorations. Has the same effect as a real black light. I used it to illuminate white lettering during Halloween. Worked great. Have a few others that have been around season after season so they last. I am not sure why some people say its not a REAL black light. It is! I recommend it.Customer Review: Product has changed, no longer any good.

UPDATE!!!
I had origianlly given this product a 5 star review. These bulbs have changed! The ones I bought in 2008 were great, the latest crop (2010) from Home Depot (and other places I am sure) with the same model number ARE NOT AS GOOD! They have a lot of pale blue light and not very much UV. They latest ones barely even charge up glow powder.
DO NOT BUY THESE!

My wife and I loved the effect of this bulb, while it lasted. It was much brighter than any other black light (intended for consumers) we'd seen in the past. Unfortunately, it burnt out within about a month of light use (a few minutes a day).
It may have just been a faulty bulb, but considering the high price (for a single bulb, anyway), I'd expect better quality control.

Bought two of these at home depot. Not sure what others problems are but they work well as long as the room is dark. While they don't work as well as a traditional tube black light, they do a sufficient job getting whites and neon colors to glow. They're a great alternative to the expensive tubes that conveniently screw into a traditional incandescent slot.Customer Review: Great for Halloween decorations

I got 3 of these for exterior lighting around Halloween and they look great. They give off the real ultraviolet light that makes the whites glow unlike incandescent bulbs. The only reason i did not give this a 5 Star is because of price per bulb.
