Customer Review: Red Feit 13 watt CFL

The shipping and packaging was great. The color it puts off is a nice fire engine red. That's about where the pros end and the cons start. This CFL looks like the coating on the inside is coming off leaving spots of varying brightness. This doesn't bother me because who cares what it looks like right as long as it puts out red light? Well I have 3 other colored CFLs(all 13 watts as well) and when they are on you can barely look at them because they are so bright so I was expecting this would be at least close to them in brightness. Nope. It maybe puts out 5 percent of the light the others do. Even in a completely dark room this CFL doesn't put out enough light to pass as an accent light. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this. I have seen other 13 watt red CFLs that actually put out a decent amount of light so it's not an issue with red CFL's in general, just this one. Usually I'd return such a bad product but it's more trouble than it's worth for something so cheap.
