Tools and Hardware Reviews of Feit Electric NL4/LED Eternalite 3-LED Modern Night Light with SensorCustomer Review: Excellent Light Defeated By Opaque Cover Summary: 2 Stars
I have 5 Feit Eternalite LED night lights, and they are superb. Not hot to the touch, negligible electricity useage, they last forever, and they turn on-and-off automatically. But for some strange reason they put an opaque, milk glass type of shade over the light on this model, #NL4/LED. My other 4 Feit units are a different model number and have a clear cover; those have the same number of LEDs but they project 5 times the light because of the different shade cover. By the way, the unit is sealed so you cannot change the shade. So be sure you get one with a clear shade if you want the full amount of light. The one I like best also has a swivel-neck so you can direct the light in any direction. That one is also sold under the brand name Greenlite, model T4.
Customer Review: Nice light...once you remove the frosted cover Summary: 3 Stars
It's a nice little light but it didn't output enough light for my needs. I don't understand why they would use three LEDs but dim it so much with the cover. You could get by with one and use a less opaque but milky cover. You can remove the cover by unscrewing the back two screws then twist it out. It's not easy but only took about 30 seconds. Then glued a piece of clear plastic cause I wanted to use it in the bathroom and not get water in it. Why bother? I couldn't find the clear cover one, already paid $7 for it and would cost $5 to return it. With the cover, it dimly lit 3-5 feet. Now it shines about 12-14 feet.
Customer Review: My Favorite Night Light Summary: 5 Stars
I've installed these in my bathrooms, in the kitchen, in the dining room and any place I might wander in the house at night so that I can make a quick errand into another room without needing to turn on the overhead light. If I'll be in the room for a prolonged period of time, of course I need the light, but if I just need to get a game out of the closet of the spare room, it's great not to have to waste the electricity of turning on an overhead light. These are great and priced right. At 25 cents a year operating cost for electricity, you can't go wrong with these nightlights.
Customer Review: Looks pretty, but not functional Summary: 2 Stars
Good:
- The light looks very pretty and blends in well with its smooth lines.
Bad:
- The light is not very bright, especially compared to other 4 x LED lights that are much brighter.
- The light is overly sensitive for darkness and only switches off when the light shining on the sensor is very bright. I tried placing the light in several rooms and it always stayed on during the day or when the lights were on. Unless the sun is shining directly into the room, or the room lights directly shine on the light sensor, this light ever turns off.
Customer Review: bright little guy Summary: 5 Stars
need a nice bright nightlight? this little one is just for you. Not bright enough to blind you when making the nightly wanderings, but plesantly bright enough to see well without giving night blindness after leaving the room. Also a plus is the fact that it is a sensor light so when the natural light dims, this guy takes off. Also does not stick out far from the wall, so that feature is sure to please some folks.
