I got this filter as a present. I have to advise anyone out there looking for a water filter system to be wary of the water filter system you buy. This filter system yet affordable, the filter costs almost half the price of the system and has to be changed EVERY 4 MONTHS.
I had to switch to the AQUABELLE water filter system that cost a bit more but their filter cost less than $50 and last 2 years. Buyer beware... buying a cheap water system may sound good for your pocket, but they get you with the expensive filters that needs to be changed 3 or 4 times a year.
Important points when chosing a water filter on top or under the sink:
* Reduces Lead > 96%
* Reduces Chlorine > 99%
* Sediment Removal > 99%
* Eliminates Foul Tastes and Odors
* Removes Giardia Cryptosporidium Cysts
* Reduces Toxic Chemicals, Pesticides and Nitrates
* DOES NOT or Remove Trace Minerals
* Good for 2,500 Gallons (18 months)
Expect to pay between $150-200 for a filter with those features and the price for a replacement (12, 18, 24 month) filter between $25-40
