Customer Review: Easy to assemble -- but you provide your own wood!

The package was shipped timely, but I had mistakenly thought that it would include the wood needed for the shelves and 2 x 4 lumber. Still, no problem -- bought the wood separately at Home Depot, and assembled the workbench, with 2 helpers, in about 2 hours. The workbench legs are plastic, not metal, but they are strong and light and were easy to work with during the assembly. You can select the dimensions of the shelves and the 2 x 4 stringers to customize the size and shape of the workbench. Also, the brackets for the supplemental shelving allow you to custom-design that part of the unit as well.
Assembly directions come in the form of pictures on a fold-out sheet of paper -- requiring some study before starting -- but very logical.
I now have a very sturdy workbench in my workshop and am enjoying it.

I put this together this weekend. The basic bench took 2-3 hours and the the shelving took a couple of hours. I actually took longer as I was using leftover lumber from my garage build. I used 5/8" plywood for the shelving. It is made for 1/2". The 5/8 added a little more stability and weight to the unit. I also added 1/2" plywood to the back of the shelves and 1x3 firring strips to the edges of bench shelves to elimiinate things falling behind the unit. The unit I built is 30"x8' like the picture above from the gent from NH. I did add additional supports under the lower bench shelves(2x4) and an extra 1x3 in the middle underside of the upper shelves the help stiffen things up and keep the 2x4 shelves flat. When all said and done this thing must weigh in at over 400 lbs(some 2x4s were very heavy) and is solid as a rock.Customer Review: Misrepresented

I was very disappointed with Amazon and will likely never use again to purchase online. The product was not sold as shown on the web and useless. The picture you show has shelves and is a complete workbench. Instead, what I received was a few plastic support pieces. Upon returning, Amazon told me I would be charged shipping for returning this useless piece. I would guess I purchased over $25,000 in goods over the internet in the past two years. You have lost a good prospect for your future services and products. If you would represent your product properly, if would not have been returned. Charging me the shipping on the return was an Amazon decision that loses a customer. Bad business decision in my view. Please remove me from your email list as I have no interest in anything you may offer in the future.

I stalked this work bench until it came down in price, and snatched one up even though I knew it would be months until we had a chance to put it together. Sadly, I didn't snatch 2. This was one of the best investments ever, especially since it comes with the shelf links, that alone cost 30 d-llers. It took us about 2 hours to put the bench to put the bench together, then another 3 weeks to organize our garage around it. The shelf links we used to make a shelf to hold our gardening stuff. It was a good project for my husband and I, and we were both pleased with our creation. Most of all, we were pleased for less than 100, we could get a shelving unit and a sturdy made-to-order workbench. The price hasn't dropped since, but when it does, I'll be ordering another. For me, this was the perfect solution because it's very customizable. I ended up building a 30" wide by 8' long work bench. I utilized the shelf links to build shelfs off of the right hand side at a 90 degree angle. It fits beautifully in a corner of my garage with the workbench on the left wall and the shelf supported off the bench and going on the right hand wall.
Very Sturdy and give me plenty of room for my Miter saw and working with long boards when I'm cutting. Nice storage under neath for 2x4, 2x6, 2x8's to be stacked for future projects along with tools, saws, etc.
There is no cheaper solution that supplies this much sturdy workspace, storage AND is perfectly customizable to your needs as far as table length and width and whatever design you can dream up for your area.
