I upgraded to this safe from one of the smaller flat kinds. I am so glad I did. This safe has room for many hanging folders, a few boxes of checks, and so on. This can fit all of my most important papers instead of trying to cram as much as possible in a smaller one.
It is HEAVY. Really heavy. It doesn't have a handle, and it's not easy to move around. It had a small dent in the corners when it was delivered because of the heft, but I wasn't so concerned about that. It comes with two keys. I store one off-site in case there really is a fire.

This safe is a good size, and seems quite sturdy. I have had this safe for about 3 years. Unfortunately, all of the paper items that I placed in the safe grew mildew on them immediately. Since these are items that I wanted to PROTECT from damage, this has turned into an inconvenience. I placed a block of cedar in it some time ago, however the damage has already been done. None of my items were wet or remotely moist when I placed them inside, it seems as thought there was some residual moisture inside the safe when I received it.

I bought this one over the others because of price and the fact it allows for regular file folders to stand upright. For those purposes it works great. The "safe" part isn't very secure, but any safe this small isn't going to provide much theft protection (someone could just carry the whole safe off). This Honeywell 2037 file cabinet feels very solid and, despite the other comments, was very well wrapped and shipped without any issues to me. I currently have 25 file folders in it and could easily fit 10 more. It's a nice product!Customer Review: Not too Big, Not too Small...Just Right!

I purchased this to store important documents. There really is no way to tell if it will work as advertised unless it's in a fire and a flood so I can't comment on that. But it is very heavy because it's lined with concrete which gives it it's protection capabilites. You can tell when the lid is shut that it is a good seal. It locks and unlocks flawlessy and the lid reopens without any trouble.
It is large enough to fit many letter size documents and small enough to fit in our closet. Overall very happy with the purchase

I bought this safe after looking at range from lockboxes to real larger combination safes - I needed something to put documents, jewelry, valuables, etc. for safekeeping from nanny, home visitors, etc. - I must say that the lock on this is pretty flimsy - it will keep out nanny, but if anyone really wants to get into this I seriously doubt it would take much to pry the lock off. However, it will keep out nanny and is the right size and price (lockboxes were too small and not much cheaper, and real safes are a lot more $).
