it is a really nice safe.you enter a code in the keyboard then you turn the key to open it. alot of people dont like that you have to turn a key and type in a code but i do. it is really spacious inside i love that it comes with an extra shelf to put more stuff on. you would want to bolt it to the ground if you dont want it carried away (pretty light). but i do have a complaint its light doesnt help at all but overall its a good safeCustomer Review: junk

This safe worked fine for a few months. I had only opened the safe about 8-10 times and then the keypad stopped working. Replaced batteries etc. I then had to use the override key. Then the key got stuck and won't come out. So now the safe is totally useless. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm going to purchase a higher quality safe that opens with a combination lock. The saying you get what you pay for was written for this item. I was looking for an inexpensive safe and the Honeywell safe seemed to fit the bill. At less than $100 I knew it would not be the highest quality but I expected it to work. I managed to get the safe to work once and then the locking mechanism failed and it would not lock. I returned the product and am awaiting my refund.Customer Review: dont buy it

I could not bolt the safe to the floor because the hardware that came with it did not fit through the predrilled holes. It did not work when it arrived. I changed the circut board twice and it still will not work. The safe is now discontinued and I cannot exchange it. I can only open it with the key and a spare key is very costly to replace. The Honeywell 1.06 Theft Safe is just what I was looking for. I went to the bank and they wanted anywhere from $85.00 to $95.00 per year and keep a minumum bank account amount. I do my banking otherwise and was not interested in their deal.
The safe is plenty large to serve my needs and easy to use. It will more than pay for itself in two years!
