Great storage box. Definitely recommend it. I purchased two, and likely will get another one. Why aren't these boxes perfect??? One reason: as another reviewer pointed out... it IS true that you CANNOT PUT AN 8-1/2 X 11 sheet flat in the box, although the advertising claims you can. 8x11 yea, but not 8-1/2. The second reason for not being perfect: the handles are attached rather minimally. If you put a lot of weight in the box, the handles may break off... <---- I hope that doesn't happen! *grin*Customer Review: Just what I needed

With Banks constantly raising the rates for safety deposit boxes I'd finally had enough.Needing a place to store documents that are too important to lose in case of a fire or other disaster I looked to Amazon for help.After looking over several security boxes I chose the First Alert 3031F box.It's just what I needed and looks like it will do the job.It's small and sturdy and the lock works fine.Hopefully I will never meet with a disaster but if I do I feel safe that important info is safely stored.Customer Review: not fire or water proof!!!!!

when i got it i wented to test how safe it was it had a steel layer then afire proof istalautor than another steel layer so first i put it with some useless documents of mine in water it imediatly the whole thing got soaked then i let it dry up and put it under 2000 degree thermite at in 5 seconds it was almost recomend this for protecting this from ur little kids or burguralys dont rely on it incase there is a flood or fire! but any its strong and durable.Customer Review: Excellent security for the price (or not)!

I bought this box to secure some valuables (papers, pictures, firearm) since I live alone and only have visitors occasionally -- otherwise, if I had children, I would keep my gun in much better safe.
This lock box is very good for the money; very much worth the price. It is sturdy, has a firm lock (the key doesn't jiggle), and I've dropped it by mistake several times and not so much as a scratch!
Very good local security. I highly recommend.

It delivers what it promises a nice firm box with a lock. Although I manage to scratch it easily with it's own key within 5 sec, to me it doesn't matter. The item did it's job for it's price and I am over all satisfied. It has good amount of space and looks somewhat nice!
