THE BOX IS ROOMY AND SECURE ENOUGH FOR GENERAL APPLICATIONS. THE ANCHOR FOR THE CABLE END IN THE BOX IS PLASTIC, WITH SOME EFFORT YOU COULD PROBABLY YANK IT OUT. THIS BOX WILL DEFINITELY DISCOURAGE, IF NOT PREVENT, A THEFT. THE DEFINITE KEY TO USING THIS IS MAKE IT HARD TO FIND. THE ELECTRONIC KEYPAD, OF COURSE, RUNS ON BATTERIES. THIS MAKES THE BACKUP KEY CRITICAL WHEN THE BATTERIES DIE. THE GOOD PRICE AND FREE SHIPPING IS WHAT MADE THIS BOX A GOOD BUY. i got this product for bout 30.00, great price. the safe is only padded on the bottom.
this is not something that i just to keep very important documents at home, it's not fireproof. however it makes a good handgun safe and good if you need to transport items in your car, tho i couldn't recommend it as a permanent car safe.
for 30.00 it can't be beat.
*i had 2 area with paint flake and a little rust under, i didn't return it wasn't a big deal.

THe button keypad works part of the time. The key entry works rarely in a timely manner. I have been locked out of this box so many times, it is a crying shame! I initially bragged on this unit but can no longer.
Save your money, frustration, loss of time and potential income if your goods are inaccessible.

My son is overseas at school. I purchased this for him to hold valuable like cash credit cards ipod and even apple powerbook.
When he fiest arrived there was a rash of theft. Students lost all the above. Not my son thankfully. the box help to keep items hidden and secured.

We bought this as a gun safe for the car. Its been awesome. Its nice to feel that the items placed in it are safe and secure. You also can't beat the price. A must have for those who travel a lot.
