One of those items that you hope you never need to use. I was very impressed with the quality of this item for the small price I paid for it. I would highly recommend this to anyone living in an upstairs apartment or 2-story building. Nothing in the box to prevent you from popping the ladder open in a short amount of time. Luckily, we have not yet had to use our fire ladder. The product seems very sturdy and was packaged very nicely - easy to access in time of emergency! We looked for some time for a fire escape ladder and this one seemed to be priced the best and offer the best quality. This escape ladder is great! It folds up nicely, and can be stored in its own box. My children, twins age 14, were able to practice fire drills, and easily fold it back up in the box. It is invaluable knowing my kids can get out safely from a second floor room. More over, the price made it very affordable.Customer Review: Very important to have!

An escape ladder is very important to have in rooms that are 2nd story or higher. Anyone that sleeps on the second story of a house should have some way to get out of the house if the stairs are blocked. this provides that at a good price. One thing that could be better is to have some kind ladder like this hidden in like a window sill planter or something like that.
