This can save you electricity if you are one to forget to turn out the light (my husband!) It is also great if your hands are full and you can't hit the switch to turn the light on. We have ours in our outside shed (that's where the light was constantly left on by mistake) and we have another in our attic (with pulldown stairs and no switch to turn light on until you get up there in the dark!) If it would work in our outside light by the door we would be even more happy. Highly recommend this.Customer Review: Works great

I saw this advertised in a magazine for twice the price I got it on Amazon for and installed it in my basement. It works great, and eveyone in the household loves it. It's especially great because in my old house you'd always be struggling to find the pull switch for this light. I may order another one for another area of our basement.
It's too bad it doesn't work outside or with halogen bulbs, but it is advertised as such, and it's still economical to use with low watt bulbs.

We have a pantry in our kitchen. There is a light switch for it, however our furniture blocks the switch. It was always being left on. The motion sensor is dead simple to install. The only adjustment you may need to make is which direction the sensors point. This kind of device (like dimmers, motion sensors, and timers) all tend to go bad overtime. I expect that will eventually be the fate of this device based on the other reviews. Until then, we will save electricity and bulb costs.Customer Review: Motion Sensing Light Socket

I have ordered this item the second time now from Amazon since it has proven itself the first time ordered. It does work in my cold garage which is not as cold as outside,but not heated. I recommend this item as being the best motion sensing devise I have used inside my home and thank Amazon for the cheaper price. If turned the correct way in the light socket with the arrows on top the instructions point out it works better if the arrow is pointing in the direction you walk into the area.Customer Review: No electrician needed

My wife has been wanting me to remove the pull string switch from our closet light for years, and install a wall switch. Not so easy when you have to go up in the attic to do the work. This is the perfect product. I've removed the pull string, screwed in the the motion sensor, and now we're both happy. The light comes on when we open the closet door, and it goes out in four minutes after we close the door to the closet. I'd like it to go out in 1 minute, but that's a minor complaint.
