Tools and Hardware Reviews of First Alert PIR720RN Motion Sensing Light Socket

Customer Review: Not so bad, Not so good
Summary: 3 Stars

I put it in the laundry room (as suggested). It senses pretty well in opposite directions. My socket is on the ceiling (just like the suggestion). Unfortunately, when I screw it in, those two directions are at right angles to the direction of the two doors in our laundry room. There doesn't appear to be a way to adjust this. If I could figure out how to make those two directions be in the direction of the doors it would be perfect.

Customer Review: Great Find
Summary: 4 Stars

I had seen this product selling for $40 in a catalog that I get and thought it was just too expensive. I bought it here for much, much less. I installed it in my glassed in porch and really like it. No more coming in to total darkness, with the light switch inside! The only thing that would make this better is if it also had a light sensor so it only came on when it is dark. Until I can find that product, this is the best!

Customer Review: Bought it to solve a problem
Summary: 5 Stars

We were selling our house and we purchased the item to solve a problem of an electrical re-route where we took out the light switch because we needed full time power to a room under the porch. These were put in to turn on the lights when you entered the room. I love them and would like to put them in our new house. We priced these at popular home DIY stores and they didn't come close to the good price on amazon. Thank you!

Customer Review: Perfect solution
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this in my basement laundry room. The lighting there is one of the pull cords and you have to walk the length of the room to get to the lighting (which doesn't work well at night). This is the perfect solution for me. I don't know how many times I've left that light on thinking I'd go back down and it would be on the a day or two. Love this product. Wished it would work with the CLF's but happy with what I have.

Customer Review: Dead after 2 Months
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this for the bathrooms at my son's little league to help save on power and lower their electric bill. First I tried a Florescent bulb. This bulb died in a day. Then I put in a regular incandescent bulb, which worked for about a month, then the Motion Sensor died.

This product is a great idea perhaps someday the manufacture will actually make one that lasts longer than my bill from my credit card.
