Customer Review: Too many false alarms

I bought four for four different flows. It was ok for 3-4 years. But now, it is paste it's warranty period.
Slowly each alarm eventually started giving false alarms, and chirps. In addition, it is extremely sensitive. Cannot really cook without it going off. It is not to a point that I have to replace all of them.
definitely would not recommend this.

This is a great smoke and CO alarm. It seems to be very sensitive to smoke...particularly when I burn toast. However, it has a convenient silencer button. I always change the battery every 6 months and have not had any problems with it.<br />

I'm coming back to order these again, after having a set for years. Yes, when the battery is low it chirps...thank God !! A smoke alarm with dead batteries is useless. And I'd certainly rather have a LOUD alarm and know I have a problem than an alarm with a low warning sound I don't hear !! I don't know what the person with the one star was talking about but was so wrong. This alarm is very loud. Not only is it loud when it goes off but the light flashes on the one that is going off. I am actually gonna order another one. Best one I had ever since I already had tried several! Its a must to get!Customer Review: VERY prone to false alarms!

We have had a lot of trouble with false/"nuisance" smoke alarms with this product. (It was not anywhere near our kitchen, either, but in an upstairs bedroom). I would recommend going with a different brand if you do not want to be repeatedly awakened at night by false alarms!
