I'm VERY chlorine sensitive & this filter worked well for 7 months before I had to replace it. I usually took a 10-15 min. shower daily with it. I could no longer smell chlorine in the water and felt much better (no more nausea or extreme feeling of tirednes). Knew I had to replace it when I could smell chlorine faintly again and symptoms began to reapear.Will buy a filter with replaceable cartridges next time to save money.Well worth buying this type of filter anyway,even if you don't have chlorine sensitivity because it makes your skin and hair noticeably softer and not so dry.
Description of Shower Water Filter KDF
The shower filter uses the patented KDF copper-zinc alloy (manufactured by KDF Fluid Treatment, Inc.), the most effective media there is to remove chlorine in high temperature shower water. KDF's performance actually improves the higher the water temperature, whereas carbon's (used by some) performance decreases! With this technology, our filter has been shown to effectively remove 97+% of this damaging chlorine, for up to 1 full year (for 2 people) - 2 to 3 times longer than other shower filters. KDF can also remove iron and other heavy metals, sulphur, and it controls the mold and mildew in your shower. A unique feature of our KDF Shower Filter is the "Dial-A-Date" reminder ring. When you install it, you simply rotate the blue calendar ring to line up with the current month. It will remind you when a year is up to ensure you are getting the best quality water possible! This KDF Shower Filter installs in minutes, with no tools on any shower arm with standard 1/2" pipe threads. Simply unscrew your showerhead from the shower arm, attach your showerhead to the end of the filter, and install the filter on the shower arm.
