The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because is a little noisy but that was expected. I have a studio with low ceilings that is 26 x 10 is divided in two rooms for a french door.if I keep the door close. the big room stay really cool on the high mode. which is good because is where my computer is. if I open the doors which is during the nigh keep the two rooms cool but not as much as if I have the doors close. Helps I have fan ceilings for example if the bedroom and computer room is at 86f after a little while the temperature in the bedroom will be 80 and in the computer room 76. So it works. eventually cools a little more. I just got it a couple weeks a ago so I haven't check my electricity bill yet. I bought this over the summer and used it extensively in my bedroom (14' x 15'). It did a good job at cooling the room from 90F to 70F during hot nights. A little loud so you have to have it on lowest speed if you want to sleep with it running (should start cooling the room an hour or so before going to bed in order to switch from high to low when turning in). Remote is helpful but has no display for the current room temperature. Very easy to mount and remove (which I do during winter since even the best insulation still lets a lot of cold air in). Excellent energy consumption (with two ACs - both Frigidair,the large one 10000 BTU - in the apartment running almost every day, my bill was below $100 every month, including gas).Customer Review: Not for the night shift folks

My biggest complaint, is that the outside vents are constructed poorly and the light is coming in through the top and side vents and it lights up my whole bedroom. The upside is that my cat is getting stepped on less (: but the down side is that I am on the night shift and sleep in the daytime so I found this very distracting, especially because I have eastern exposure. And I can't block the light coming in through the inside vents like I do with window shades on the windows because it will also block air flow.
It took me a few weeks to calm down about the fact that I was gonna have to live with this every "night". I never would have bought this if I knew. Why didn't they louver the vents like other models?

I ordered two of these, one of the units was twice as loud as the other, so it was returned for another. Amazon sure made getting the replacement easy. The replacement arrived with a cracked housing, so that one needed to be replaced.(The manufacturer would not just send out a new piece that I could have replaced.) The replacement came in and it was fine. Both the units are working and they are quieter than most. I like the automatic settings and the energy saving features. They both seem to cool up to their rated capacity, do a great job of removing the humidity too. I would consider these again when I need to replace the next AC unit. These small units are great for bedrooms. The filters are easy to clean.Customer Review: Even Too Loud For Drunk Sleep!

I couldn't even pass out this air conditioner is so loud! I got it last summer for my unbearably hot college apartment and everything went swimmingly. It was a little loud, like the air flow was loud, but it was kind of a soothing noise. Now, luckily a little less than a year later, it is SUPER loud, it revs up, rattles, and rolls. It kind of sounds like a dishwasher disposal. I called up Frigidaire and they said that my model is unrepairable and must be replaced. Luckily I didn't procrastinate on this because my one-year warranty is almost up!
I barely recommend this air conditioner. If you are desperate get a warranty and plan on having it replaced. It's even too loud for drunk sleep!
