Customer Review: Very nice, a real bargain

Yeah, its a tad heavy, have a bud help with the lifting or be ready for a couple of "I can do this" moments. Otherwise, it installs like a dream. Use the recommended table outside the window (I used a card table). Comes with wood screws expecting a wood sash, if you have the newer vinyl windows you'll have to invest in some pan heads (mine came to about a buck and a half).
Operationally, this thing's a gem. Only 10K BTU, yet it brought our Northwest heat wave under control in practically no time. Easily set for recirculate, outside air vent, or "out with the bad, in with the freshly cooled". That combined with three cooling modes: Cool, Energy Saver, and, well, Fan. Cool to start, Energy Saver to maintain. The unit is smart enough to make adjustments.
Remote carries a display of the current ambient temp, and can be synced with the main unit.
Draws less than than 8 amps, so it runs great on a 15 amp circuit.
Wow. What a friggin' life saver!
Frigidaire created the first real mass produced fridge, that thing with the coils and compressor on the top of the storage box (uh, heat rises). That gave way to style and energy consumption at the expense of practicality. This unit makes me believe that the designers at Frigidaire, regardless of where the things are manufactured, have re-found their form-follows-function roots.
A central conditioning estimate for my home came in at several thousand, a couple more of these sweet little units and I'll be appreciating the same effect for less than a grand. And with the options of recirculate, vent or exchange air. And less than 800 watts a unit.
Warranty is parts and labor for a year, with a 40 dollar extension to three years.
