I bought an oyster knife from Amazon (where I drop a ton of money). These gloves were "suggested" as Amazon is wont to do.
So... I ordered them. I suppose I've been a bit preoccupied with the holidays, because I did not notice that "LARGE" was included in the headline ... Unfortunately, large I am not.
So, I went to the returns page. But, it was clear that it is not even worth sending them back due to the shipping cost. An exchange for a "medium" was not possible because, as an honest person, I did not claim the product arrived damaged.
So... as much as I love Amazon-at least, usually-be aware of what you are ordering at the time you hit that button. I would have tried the "medium," but it was not an option; plus, it cost $4 extra. Go figure!

Kevlar Cut Resistant Fiber is the only material I can trust as cut resistant fiber, they use it for lots military applications. I learned from discovery channel. I used my kevlar gloves for a year, I noticed the color of the fiber is getting darker and darker which proofs this is the real Kevlar staff, because the real Kevlar tend to getting dark if you exposing it under direct sun light. I learned it from DuPont website, you guys should check it out by yourself. Anyway, this product usually cost a lot more in the retail store, it used to have just one Large size to choose from at amazon, now they added the Medium and X-large size, which is very good. I just purchased my first mandoline and after reading other customer comments went ahead and purchased a pair of these gloves. Now I see how so many people have ended up in the emergency room without a pair. The mandoline was fantastic but before you're aware of it, the glove would get hit by the blade -- that would have been my fingers if I hadn't bought these gloves. Believe me, it has happened more than once and I'm trying to be careful. These gloves are a must.
The only drawback is that I could not figure out how to get a different size and would have preferred to have a medium pair, but I still manage with this slightly big pair.

I bought these to protect my hands while shucking oysters. They provide good grip on wet items and a solid amount of protection, though it may be wise to use a towel anyway if you're planning on using them for shellfish. My only complaint was that they are advertised as 100% kevlar and the label attached to the gloves only states "made with kevlar" with no notation for content otherwise (hence 4 stars instead of 5). Regaerdless I would recommend these for anyone looking to keep all the flesh on their hands where it is while using sharp/pointy implements.Customer Review: Staying ahead of sharp things

Just going to secong several posts already here. I use a mandolin for preparing foods, and I collect swords that need to be maintained. Nothing is absolutely gauranteed to stop a slash or puncture in case of an accident, but these Kevlars provide some measure of safety and give you a chance to react to those accidents and maybe drop the trash before you're seriously harmed.
No complaints using these. I bought the larges because I wear size 11 gloves and these fit me very well. Price was great and they were mailed fast.
