This was a terribly disappointing product. The sign was secured with a double-stick pad to the packaging and just in the process of removing it, the sign snapped in two pieces. The stake is also a flimsy plastic and I am afraid it wouldn't last long outside. The stickers were believable and we have put them in the windows (even without the yard sign).
For a product from a reputable company like GE, I expected much higher quality and would not recommend this product.

GE 45400 SmartHome Security Yardstake with Window Stickers does what it suppose to do protect. The sign quailty is on the cheap side, but then, you get what you pay for. The sign is made of plastic not metal and therefore, it may be prone to wind damage if it is placed without a barrier around it. As far as the window stickers go, I have not used them. I feel that the yard sign is enough to give would be burglars a fair warning.Customer Review: Smarthome Security

I purchased this item some months ago. The stake was so flimsy it wasn't worth using, I screwed it to my porch post. The sign is still in good shape but the window stickers, I put them on the inside of the glass of my two storm doors and in a couple of months they were so faded you could not read anything. If you are not handy, do not buy it. The stake is flimsy and won't last. However, if you are handy, you can reinforce the plastic stake with an aluminum or galvanized rod (1/4" diameter) with hot melt glue to the stake. This make the stake very sturdy and will last for a long time.Customer Review: Keep in shade!

I was really glad we had a security sign in front of our house until it faded. Now we have a white octagon in front of our house. I think it could still be useful for someone if they have an area that stays shaded to put the sign in.
