I am really surprised to see any negative reviews on this light because I absolutely love it. It has worked for me as specified. It turns on when it senses motion and turns off after 90 seconds. But I purchased mine in a store and I do believe it is always possible to get a dud. I guess I was just lucky. The only quirk I may have experienced is one another reviewer mentioned -- I think it may be temporarily turning on every once in a while. I've owned and used this for about a month and think I may have seen it on during a time when no one should have passed by it. I am not absolutely sure, though. I now have it plugged in a walkway but had it in the laundry room. Sometimes it seemed I could see light underneath the door, signaling the light was on. But like I said, I am not sure. All I know is that it has worked as specified and I would definitely buy another.Customer Review: A bit unpredictable, but dependable

Like a few other reviewers, I had to return the first GE LED Motion Sensing Night Light. It worked for 3 minutes, then it wouldn't shut off regardless of direct sunlight or lack of motion. Amazon makes it easy to return via UPS, I kept the faulty light plugged in at night until my replacement arrived 2 days after I reported the problem. My new one triggers when it senses motion in the dark anywhere from 17' to 13.5' (I measured). I approach mine when I walk down a hall directly towards it--it's located at the opposite side of the living room. I'm going to order a few more for other parts of the house.
About the unpredictable part. Sometimes it goes on for no reason at all, I've seen it happen from the distance when I'm motionless and out of range. Sometimes I come home and see the light on. But since it's a low-energy LED, the quirkiness doesn't bother me.

As a quick review, let me just say I needed a good night light. This suits me.
It is pretty darn bright, but not bright enough that you could read by it or not block it out with your eyelids. It is much brighter than a previous version. I primarily use it due to having a baby in the bedroom and when he wakes up, I can see him and the room pretty well instantly.
The motion sensor is also very good. I don't have to wave my hand or foot in front of it to get it to turn on. Our dog easily sets it off just by getting off the floor.
I've purchased another of these lights just now to replace the older, less bright one. I'll more than likely get another in the future if I need to. I don't know how anyone could go wrong with this light.

We absolutely loved this nightlight. We used it in the bathroom for the nighttime trips as well as in the morning, while you are still adjusting to being awake. The motion sensor worked perfectly and the light was just right. And it looks attractive. However, in the 5th week of using it, it burned out! Amazon's returns policy only accepts electronic returns within 30 days. I emailed Amazon but did not receive a response. So, buyer be warned - it's the luck of the draw. (I am, however, ordering another. Let's see what happens.)
** Update: The second nightlight worked great for a week and then would not turn off! Sadly, returning this one as well. The search continues for a motion detecting night light.

I bougth two because my wife is pregnant of twins And I think is a good idea when my babies will walk and go from their room to my room at nigth, for example. The motion sensing night light are rigth now in use and they are excellent, well, some sensitive for me but is ok. High cuality.
Compré estos sensores con luz pensando en mis bebés porque mi esposa está embarazada de gemelas, pienso que serán útiles cuando ellas quiera ir de su habitación a la nuestra a mitad de la noche, así no se golpearán. Ya los estoy usando y lo cierto es que funcionan muy bien, quizás demasiado sensibles para mi gusto, pero no hay problema, funcionan muy bien.
