Tools and Hardware Reviews of GE 51107 Smart Home Wireless Alarm System KitCustomer Review: Good deterrant Summary: 4 Stars
I use the GE alarm system as a deterrant for any intruders. It surely does not have any fancy security features, but the loud noise will surely drive anyone trying to break in away! The alarms for the windwos however, could not be placed on my specific sliding doors and windows. Overall, this basic system serves its purpose of maiking a loud annoying noise to drive people away.
Customer Review: works as advertised. Summary: 5 Stars
simple installation. just make sure you play with the window pieces first before actually sticking them on. the window units are actually simplistic - can be turned off or remove, crushed, or thrown away by the intruder. alarm is very loud but can be suffocated with a piece of cloth. so, it works as advertised but may not be effective against sophisticated intruder(s).
Customer Review: Good for small apartments..... Summary: 3 Stars
My husband deployed and I was going to be all alone in my apartment for a whole year and so I got these for extra safety measures...I live in a one bedroom apartment so these are ideal for small homes...the window alarms aren't too loud but the door alarm is...and they're toy-like..it made me feel safer though because I'd be alerted if someone was breaking into my home.
Customer Review: Great security for little ones Summary: 5 Stars
Bought these for my front door, back door, and door leading to the garage. My son is 3 and knows how to open the doors, so we installed these just so we could hear if he attempts to open the doors. The big unit is very loud if you have it placed on buzz!!! It'll definitely get you attention.
Excellent if you want to have added security at a cheap cost!!
Customer Review: they do the job Summary: 5 Stars
As others have mentioned, these are really loud. They do exactly what they say they do. The only advice I would give is that if you do use these on your front door, that you maybe put it at the bottom of the door instead of the top right where your guest's heads will be when they come or go. They are loud enough to cause a bit of a scare if you're not used to them.
