Customer Review: Don't expect to get too creative with these just out of the box

After nearly 30 years of running 10 sets of incandescent lights around my roof line, windows, doors, etc, being one of the more nicely decorated home in the neighborhood, I decided to replace those old electric company cash cows with these c-9 LED Christmas lights. I was extremely disappointed however to find out that if I remove more than one bulb from the set they all go out.
What does this mean? Well, if (for example) you want to place lights around the perimeter of 2 windows and a door, and there is space between them you don't want lit, when you run the string from the end of one window to the beginning of the next window and remove the bulbs so they don't come on (the space between the windows) then all of the lights that are connected to that string (and all strings after that) go out.
With my old incandescent lights, I was able to remove the bulbs along the areas I don't want to be lighted, and still was able to keep all the rest of the bulbs lit. With these lights you have to run all of the bulbs in the entire string - or all but one bulb.
If anyone has an idea how I could use these and not light the areas between windows and doors, and areas around the roof I may not want lit,(without an inexcusable amount of waste hanging tactlessly, then I'd appreciate the idea. Otherwise, if you want to get creative with your lights, don't buy these.
There is a comment on the box that says: "CONSTANT ON", then in smaller letters it says ""set continues to operate even if an LED (bulb) is burned out or loose". I wrongfully assumed from that statement that if one could be loose or missing, then more than one could be loose or missing. GE should add something that warns people that if they remove more than one LED, the entire set and everything plugged into it will go out. But, if they did that, I imagine fewer people would purchase them. Hopefully, after spending nearly $200.00 on this project, I can return them. (I did not buy them at Amazon)
I really would like to welcome anyone reading this who is perhaps more creative than I am, wanting to enough to make good use of these lights around a rather large house - wanting to decorate around windows and doors, roof lines, etc, and not have it look tacky, to tell me how they did it.
