If all you want or need is an easy-to-set, easy-to-use, featherweight travel alarm that doesn't keep you awake with its loud ticking, this is your clock! I love the illuminating button, which allows me to check the time quickly and then fades out, so I don't lie there staring at the digital time report in the darkness. The alarm is loud enough to rouse me, but otherwise this clock, unlike its predecessor, is silent, thank goodness. Having had recent bad experience with travel alarms I went out searching for a new one. This one is easy to operate. Buttons easily allow change of settings. It is very lightweight. The cover is made of plastic which makes it seem flimsy but it works out OK - that adds to the lightness. It is sturdy enough for my daily use. Although a travel alarm I use it daily. It is very inexpensive and yet better than many more expensive models that I am retiring.Customer Review: Not as good as expected

Some reviewers may be talking about a different clock, but this one DOES NOT start out softly and get louder. It is simply loud from the start. The packaging notes it is an "ascending alarm", but this just means it beeps more frequently if you don't shut it off. True, it is simple to operate and the numbers are nice and big, but it looks and feels cheap. I really wanted something that would wake me gently (at least initially) and this is not it!Customer Review: Rock solid

I'll leave it to the existing reviews to describe the nice design; what I do want to add is that this alarm has served me well for nearly 3 years now with no problems. It keeps good time and doesn't need frequent battery replacement, and changing the alarm time, etc is relatively painless for a digital clock--the buttons are easy to use. Snooze is big and convenient.
I've dropped it a couple times and it's survived fine.

A basically featured travel alarm clock(clock/alarm/snooze/folds). Simple to use. Takes two AAA (the old style only took one, so it is a little heavier) I encountered some confusion re the number of batteries required reading specs. There are quite a few travel alarms out there with more features ie. temp and auto setting,etc., but none had the good night visibility indiglo lighting this one had. For me that made the difference.
