I left it in my last hotel room. The light failed to work - the dial had insufficient contrast to view easily in light and was impossible in the dark. While at first I welcomed the convenient cheap two AAA batteries I realized they added unwanted weight; the clock was much heavier than alternative devices. The alarm was almost inaudible. This alarm lasted for my entire trip (1 week), the alarm was loud enough, it had a flashing blue light as well - which would be handy for someone hard of hearing. It was easy to use, the price was right and it arrived just in the nick of time. And, I like the way it is designed - folds up to protect the buttons so in the crush of luggage it doesn't inadvertently activate the alarm and drain the battery.Customer Review: why would they make such a lousy product?

A horrible, useless clock. There's no light, so you can't read the damn thing when you wake in the middle of the night, and the cheap plastic frame broke the first time I used it. I'd return it for a refund, but for ten bucks, I'll just toss it and post this review. Do NOT waste your money.If I were Elgin, I'd be ashamed. I love the easiness of use of this alarm clock: no messing up with "mode", "setting" and other buttons to access functions I'll never use. This alarm clock has four positions: time set, alarm set, alarm on and alarm off. It's everything you need, and you cannot go wrong. The alarm is loud enough and it's progressive. Contrary to what the description says, it requires 2 AAA batteries, not 1.Customer Review: Great Product

I'm amazed such a simple product can help travel so much. Even when a hotel has a clocks it's convenient to have your own and be sure things are set as expected. This clock is great for travel, easy to set, and easy to read in a strange environment. Hit the big blue button and a gentle back light shows time in BIG numbers, then gently fades away. The alarm is loud enough, but not annoying.
