Tools and Hardware Reviews of 6 Foot Single Sided Compact Folding LadderCustomer Review: Handy but slender Summary: 4 Stars
This ladder is exactly what I needed, a very light, handy, compact ladder to squirrel away in my motorhome out of the way until I need it. However, to achieve that compactness, it is very slender. Although it is very sturdy and stable, the narrow sides and steps just FEEL a little skinny. You wouldn't use this ladder for a long hard job where you stand on it for hours. But for what it's intended, it's just fine. Watch your fingers when you're folding it up, there are several opportunities to get pinched. No big deal, just be careful.
Description of 6 Foot Single Sided Compact Folding LadderThis is one of GPL's most popular items, with homeowners, RV enthusiasts and the trades. Its light weight, folds to just 3 1/2 inches, by 3 1/2 inches by 73 inches long. The product is made of light weight aluminum with steel parts and replaceable, rubberized anti-skid feet. The product is corrosion resistant, strong and tested to be OSHA compliant for a Type II, 225lb., commercial rating. This is a single sided ladder so you can on climb up one site. It's almost half the weight of the double sided ladder. If you're short on space or just don't like to see a ladder hanging around this is the product for you. It allows the ladder to be stored out of site. It also fits in the 4 1/2 inch by 5 inch standard decorative fence post sold at most hardware stores and lumber yards. This allows mounting on truck lumber racks, inside service vans and also RV's. If you're a typical homeowner that uses a ladder only once or twice a week, this is the perfect ladder for you. It's easy to carry around minimizing the potential to bump or scratch furniture and walls. If you use the ladder for work and have to walk to job sites, you can put a shoulder strap on it (weighs just 15 lbs) and you can still carry all your tools and the ladder in one trip. In New York you will often see folks using the subway with our ladders, image carrying a conventional ladder on the subway!
