Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gardus RLE202 LintEater 10-Piece Rotary Dryer Vent Cleaning System

Customer Review: Worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this kit plus extensions to clean a completely clogged up 30ft long duct. After running the clog removal tool and removing a couple of heavily compacted lint and hair balls I ran the bristle though the duct and removed like one grocery bag worth of lint and loose debris.
Now the dryer will work..before it won't even heat the clothes because of some fire prevention interlock on the dryer was activated by the obstruction.
My only complaint is that the last rod broke but I have to concede that I was running quite a bit of torque at that moment because of how compact the clog was.
All in all a recommended tool just make sure to use the clog removal tool first because the cleaning bristle is not intended to be used as a clog remover.

Customer Review: AWESOME PRODUCT!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had been struggling with having to run at least 2 cycles in my dryer for every single load of laundry I did. Doing laundry had become an all-day event and that's just ridiculous, really!! I purchased the LintEater after searching for cleaning solutions for the dryer vent/duct. My home has an underground, very long (about 25') duct to the outside and the LintEater worked beautifully for that. If you follow all the instructions as they come, you should not have any problems in cleaning the duct. We took around 2 lbs. (yes, you read it right... 2 lbs!!!) of lint from the duct and I was amazed to have dried a load of sheets and towels in less than 40 minutes! Amazing results for sure! I can't wait to see how much I will save on the gas bill! Definitely recommend!

Customer Review: Excellent tool
Summary: 5 Stars

If your dryer takes longer to dry clothes than it used to, I strongly suggest you buy this product. This tool does the job. It's not one of those products sold on late night commercials that you never know if it really works. The linteater DOES work. It is simple to use and has clear instructions. It is designed to work with any 1/2" and 3/8" drill. You will be amazed at how much lint you'll get out of the vent, which makes me think of a piece of advice: consider buying the bag (Lint catcher) they sell for this job. It will catch all the lint coming out of the vent therefore preventing it from being blown in every direction, including your face. By the way, a dust mask and a pair of safety glasses are recommended while doing the job.

Customer Review: Works as promised
Summary: 5 Stars

It works as promised, make sure you read the instructions carefully and FOLLOW THEM! I would stress on one point someone already made: Only hookup on piece of stick and push it in to the vent before adding another extension piece. This is very important. I tried to take short cut despite the warning on the second round of cleaning and ended up bending one piece plus hurting myself!

I have a vertical exhaust vent: I connected shop vac near dryer side. And pushed the cleaning brush from the exhaust side. Got half pillow case full of lint from 12' vent that was not cleaned for 7 years. We were very diligent about cleaning dryer filter every cycle so my vent did not had any drying sheets or cloths in it!

Customer Review: Works great
Summary: 5 Stars

I have about a 20 ft run. It badly needed cleaning. This worked easily and quickly.

I hooked up a vacuum on the dryer end and came in through the vent side. Since it's only 12' I followed up by pushing it through from the dryer side then turning on the drill and drawing it towards me with the vacuum nozzle in the end by me also. (In essence pulling the remaing lint towards me with the vacuum sucking it up as it came)

An extension kit can also be purchased but this worked fine.

The other attachments worked well in the lint trap but I also took off the back to vacuum inside as much as possible. (If a fire starts in a dryer obviously it will start near the burner)

Good luck!
