I purchased this a couple of years ago and have been using it since with an Onan 6,000 watt generator. It works just as advertised. In our recent power outage, I flipped one switch and we had electricity for lots of lights and plugs, plus the water pump to our well and the hot water heater (both 220 circuits). This type of transfer box guarantees that when you use it there is no possibility of sending power back through the main line where it might electrocute a repairman from the electrical company. The installation instructions were clear and easy to follow for anyone who has a little "do it yourself" home repair experience and understands very basic electrical circuitry. All the wires needed were included, clearly coded by color and number to correspond to the instructions. I also got good advice from the state electrical inspector in my state (Washington) over the phone before I started, as I had a couple of questions. When it came to inspection time, it took just a few minutes to get the approval. Good product, good price. Simple to use.

200660 - Gen-Tran PowerStay 20 Amp 120/240V 5000 watt 6 circuit indoor manual transfer switch w/ L1420 inletThe Gen/Tran PowerStay manual transfer switch is a highly versatile switch designed for 6 circuits, 20 Amps, and generators up to 5,000 watts. Plus, as your family or business needs change, this product can expand up to 16 circuits, increasing its range of use. The cabinet can be conveniently flush or surface mounted indoors, and the design accommodates either hardwiring to a generator or installing via a plug-in cord. The standard branch circuit breakers make for easy replacement and expansion, allowing you to reconfigure the product to suit your needs. This transfer switch features a L14-20 male power inlet and dual watt-meters to help balance generator loads. Included in the design are two 15 Amp 1-pole breakers, two 20 Amp 1-pole breakers, and one 2-pole 20 Amp breaker; the transfer switch accepts Arc Fault and GFCI breakers. To use this transfer switch, a 60 Amp main breaker must be installed in the existing load center. This product is listed to UL standard 1008.
