Customer Review: Easier to install than you think

I'm not an electrician by any means, I am pretty handy though. I was really worried about installing this right, it turned out to be pretty easy. My only complaints is that to cover all the circuits that I wanted it to run I had to go to Lowes and get a few other circuit breakers to exchange - it would have been nice if I could have chosen the breakers that I wanted before they sent it to me. Also after getting this installed I realized what a waste it made of my original panel almost nothing is hooked up to it now, and of course I saw a product after I installed this that you could use your existing panel to do the same thing, unfortunately I tried to forget it quickly so I didn't feel like I wasted a lot of money and time so I don't remember the name of the product or if it was cheaper. I also wish that the outlet was on the face of the panel, it is on the top of the panel which makes it hard to want to recess it in the wall, I did recess it in the wall and am going to trim a big enough space above the panel to give me plenty of room to easily plug it in.

W x 11 1/2in. L x 3 3/8in. D. UL listed. U.S.A.The GenTran Powerstay 50 Amp 12-circuit transfer switch for up to 12,500-watt generators allows for hardwired or plug-in generator connections. It can be flush mounted or surface mounted indoors, and includes a 50 Amp 4-wire twistlock male inlet and dual wattmeters to help balance generator loads. Three 15 Amp 1-pole breakers, three 20 Amp 1-pole breakers, one 2-pole 20 Amp breaker, one 2-pole 30 Amp breaker, and one 2-pole 50 Amp breaker are included. This switch requires installation of a 100 Amp main breaker in your existing load center. GenTran backs its switch with a 2-year limited warranty.
