This bulb is not perfect. It does have a fairly slow warm up time, as noted in the sales specs, but since my intended use is for lights that I expect to have on all day and most of the evening through out the winter, I am not much bothered by the slow-on. The bulb is slightly taller than the 75w and 65w indoor floods that I have been using in my recessed "can" lights, and thus sticks out beyond the rim a little bit. If you want your ceiling to be completely flat and unmarred by little bulb-bulges, then try another one. For my purposes, I figure it just lets that much more light out to where I want it in these darkish winter days. Now, if it lasts as long as they say it does, so I have to get up on the ladder less often, and costs as little as they say it does, so I can shrink the electric bill, I think I have a winner.
