I am looking for a low-priced cable lock to leave my netbook at work, but not have "borrowed" without my permission.
After digesting all the good/bad reviews, I take the chance to give it a try. My total cost is $3 + $2.49(shipping) + $0.28(tax) = $5.77. I really don't expect a fancy cable lock with this low price.
To my surprise, it works nice and fits my need well.
The length of this 1/8-diameter cable lock is 43 inches per my measurement. This shorter length and thinner cable makes it easier to carried around in my netbook pouch. It is simple to attach and to remove. It fits easily into my Acer AO532H netbook.
Not sure about the smell mentioned by other reviewers. The one I received is very normal and doesn't have any special smell.
For high theft areas, don't use this one!!! You sure need a thick heavy-duty cable, but for ordinary security (like library, work place), this one is good.
In summary, again, this is "NOT" a heavy duty cable lock. Based on what I have paid for and what I am using this cable for, this cable fits my need well.
