The Genie remote worked just great right out of the box. The plus was that bateries were preinstalled... a few clicks and my garage door was working with it.
cons: The construction is a bit flimsy, and feels like it will break if it falls on the ground or banged with something. Another thing is that it needs line of sight if clicking from afar. It will work without a stringht clear line only if it is very near. So you might have a to click a couple of times to get the door open if you are clicking from afar while driging towards your house.
But overall this is a very good deal at this price, and there is absolutely no problem in the functionality. I would recommend it to everyone whose garage-openeer is compatible with this clicker.

The only thing they left out is this: if you move into a house, and the garage door opener looks kind of old, this remote probably won't work for you. It's right there in the instructions: "Older Transmitters and Receivers will not work with these new electronics. There are no Security Code Switches inside the Door Operators, Transmitters and Receivers." They don't say it on the Amazon page where you see the remote. It's just nowhere on that page. I had to order it to find out.
Also, as an editor, I don't see why so many nouns were capitalized. The instructions must have been written by someone who doesn't write in English very often...Thumbs down.

Simply put, I like products that do their job. React as they are supposed too. Are easy to program. Give the appearance of quality construction without costing a fortune. I have used this product before until it got lost somewhere and liked it. This new one works great too. So if you are looking for a good garage or any highly portable remote controller this is a good product. It just works well. The price is outstanding.
Only potentially bad thing about it is that the button is set up and should be recessed a little. In your pocket or in a womans purse it can open the garage door if it presses up agains other items with being juggled around.

I thought the small size was a nice feature for the opener. It was easy to program. Those are the only good things about this remote. Mine only lasted 1 1/2 years before it crapped out! The range was pitiful. I couldn't close the door with the car parked near the corner of the garage five feet away. I needed to pull it off the sun visor and aim it directly at the garage to get it to respond. The built in Homelink transmitter in my car and the larger Genie remote in my wife's car will open and close the garage from several yards down the street! Maybe I just got a bum unit, but am pretty disappointed and will be ordering the bigger standard remote.Customer Review: Perfect!

Our 5-year-old garage doors opened sporadically, if at all, after a few years use with the 2-button style Genie opener. Went through battery after expensive battery until I finally decided to replace the remotes. They work perfectly, were easy to program, and I'm still kicking myself for not replacing the non-or barely functional remotes. I was about to buy the same style when Amazon or the seller noted that a newer model was available--much appreciated! We keep the remotes on the visor of the vehicles, so the "flimsiness" is not a problem. I like the "soft touch" of the button.
