My wife likes to be able to come and go while working in the yard without the need to carry house keys. I use it when I return from a bicycle ride. I did have to program it half of a dozen times before I got it right and it worked. I do not know why. I see some have had problems with the unit breaking or quitting after a couple of years. I just installed ours and it is working fine. It is nice that there is no need to install it with hard wiring.Customer Review: wireless remote

remote didn't seem to initially work with my 1995 garage door opener. I did a lot of research to see what would be compatible with an older genie model. When I called the supplier for help, they could not provide any assistance on what keypad to purchase instead but they did refer me to the Genie 1-800 number and they were able to provide assistance - finally, the keypad did work.Customer Review: Works Well - Good Battery Life

This was easy to setup and program with my existing Genie opener. The lighted buttons make it easy to see at night. I would have give this 5 stars except for one problem. The door seems to fall off sometimes. Sometimes when lifting the door, it comes off in your hand. Other times, it won't close because it's binding on the hinge. Received this keypad with my Genie Excelerator garage door opener purchased from Home Depot. Keypad works well but plastic cover is so poorly designed it come off everytime you open it - very frustrating that something so small could be overlooked by Genie. Plastic tabs are desinged so poorly it makes you wonder if Genie put a similar lack of integrity into the opener itself.Customer Review: 5 min to setup, works fine

This opener was easy to set up with directions printed inside the lid of the device. Set-up a PIN, push a button on the door opener, enter your PIN, push a button, and you're done. Took all of 5 minutes and mounts easily too. Like described elsewhere, this opener stays "on" for around 30 seconds after entering your code...a good/bad feature depending on the individual.
