Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-01629 LMF II Black Infantry Knife with 4.8-Inch BladeCustomer Review: High Quality Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a great military style knife and every bit of research I did pointed right at the Gerber LMF II. Because I collect many different styles of knives, this fits the bill if you want a military/ survival type knife that will hold up to anything you put it through. Arrived very sharp, although I ran it through my ceramic sharpener and could now easily shave with it if so desired. And apparently, everyone that buys this knife feels the same as I do. Great product, extremely well made and high-tech looking. You can't go wrong with this Gerber.
You may want to check your local and state laws prior to ordering this knife. It's not a pocket knife and could potentially get you into hot water in the wrong situation.
Customer Review: Excellent Knife Summary: 5 Stars
I will begin with the negative point: the blade finish isn't invulnerable, and rubs thin at some high points from just inserting and removing the knife from its sheath. That's it. That's all. The only negative aspect of this knife. Who cares? No blade finish is going to stay perfect forever on any knife, and it doesn't negatively impact performance.
The high points? Here they are: great blade geometry, flawless handle, good steel, good edge from the factory, good edge retention, amazing sheath (comfort, versatility, knife retention), totally reasonable price, nice balance/weight, and Gerber quality.
If you're considering this knife, just stop thinking about it and buy. You will not be disappointed.
Customer Review: No Lightweight, But TOUGH! Summary: 4 Stars
Just rec'd my LMFII, and have only used it to cut some poly line (did great). Initial impression is this is one durable, TOUGH survival tool. There are some inevitable trade offs... the wide, thick blade and large handle make the knife a little heavy (but a lighter knife would not likely be as strong); also, the handle is a bit narrow for my hand (but a thicker grip would be less concealable). The knife I rec'd is sharp for a factory edge, and the serrated section is a perfect length. The sheath and its removable straps, loops, etc. allow for carry in any way you want (leg, belt, thigh, vest, etc.). My initial impression is that this knife will outlast me, even with careless use. I'd buy it again, if I had it to do over.
Customer Review: 77 "ubt" is an idiot Summary: 5 Stars
First of all, I own this knife. It's a nice well made knife, and for the money it's a great value. If you want a better knife be prepared to bust out the checkbook! Secondly, 77"ubt". What kind of review was that? Learn to speak some English and form a proper sentance and then maybe your review will at least make sense. I doubt it will be much better though. If you couldn't break a glass window with the pommel of this knife you are either 6 years old, or completely worthless. And anyone complaining about how much pressure it takes to remove the knife from it's sheath better hope they never find themselves in a survival situation anyway! This is a great knife, and for under 100 bucks it's an incredible value. Period.
Customer Review: Perfect Survival/Camping/Outdoor Knife Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great knife and has no problems that I have found. It is extremely well-made, something that you can get simply by holding the knife. You can tell it is high quality, well-balanced, and going to do everything that Gerber claims it can.
Has been put to test and has performed wonderfully. Knife sharpener in sheath is easy to use, although no instructions were included (all you do is stick it in and withdraw at a slight angle. you will hear and feel it sharpening).
If spending anytime camping or in an outdoor environment, you can't go wrong with having this knife. More expensive than many others, but well worth it as it will last a long time and perform better throughout its life.
