Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-01629 LMF II Black Infantry Knife with 4.8-Inch Blade

Customer Review: Great substitute for the jaws of life.
Summary: 5 Stars

I work as a police officer and responded to a crash on a major highway. The car had overturned and the driver was trapped inside. EMS hadn't arrived and we needed to get inside to the driver. I ran back to my patrol car and got my LMF II, figuring that if it could cut an airplane fuselage and helicopter canopy and all the stuff it advertises, then I might as well give it a try. I jammed the knife as hard as I could in between the door and the frame and kicked the handle as hard as I could. Pop, it opened the door. And the knife had absolutely no marks, dings, scratches or other signs of abuse.
This is a great knife.

Customer Review: One of gerbers best
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of Gerber's best knives.Buy one now because Gerber has a history of dis-continuing some of their best knives.
This knife is a great value considering that it is as good a knife as the Trident series which cost much more. The only shortcoming of this knife is the sheath,It's for a molle' vest and does not carry well for most. Some may see this as a plus, the constuction and material is first rate. The knife fits well in your hand, has a stout well shaped blade. The chisel point on the end of the handle is functional, but I wouldn't count on the hammer funtion, the flat is just too small.

Customer Review: Everything i expected and more
Summary: 5 Stars

Recently took this knife into the Adirondack mountains, and was very happy with its performance. Razor sharp out of the box, perfect balance in your hand, when you hold this knife you just want to cut things. chopped down numerous 8 foot and under pines roughly 2-3 inches in diameter in just a few chops in the right chopping pattern. one swipe of the knife cleared 3-5 branches off the small downed trees at a time. after all the use of this knife its still razor sharp with no sharpening, no sign of rust when put away wet, sheath is a little big but still comfortable on the lower calf great straps.

Customer Review: Solid heavy duty
Summary: 4 Stars

Defintily a heavy duty work horse knife, arrived with a very sharp edge, I rated four stars only because sheath is a little complicated but on the other hand i love the included sharpener, but it is a bit bulky orderd my son the sog seal pup and believe I like it better for size and comfort, although the gerber is alot thicker bladed and probably could handle a bit better in a survival situation, the sog had a better overall feel.
IF your looking for a compact lesser "intense"use knife I reccomend something else but if your looking to dang near chop down trees then this is your knife

Customer Review: Best knife!
Summary: 5 Stars

This knife may not have the looks of a Ka-Bar but it definitely can keep up if not surpass it.

The blade is sharp and the built in sharpener is great. I do a lot of backpacking and wilderness based tasks and this knife does not leave my side. The holster is well built and just looks plain mean on your thigh holster.

It is a very heavy and solid knife. If you need a survival knife or a military use knife there is not one knife that can hold up against this one.

The holster is quiet for those instances where it is necessary.(Military know what I mean.
