Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-01629 LMF II Black Infantry Knife with 4.8-Inch BladeCustomer Review: Amazing knife Summary: 5 Stars
I just ordered this knife (but in the Coyote brown) and I am nothing short of amazed. The balancing of the knife, sharpness, comfort of the sheath and the knife in my hand; all impeccable. I can't wait to go "man vs. wild" with this puppy. Truly amazing knife, Gerber does it again. I recommend it to anyone in the Armed Services (the coyote brown goes suprisingly well against Army ACUs) and the MOLLE compatibility only adds to the diverse wearing options. Wisest 80$ I have spent in too long.
Only complaint was the damn plastic wrapping trying to get it open! =)
Customer Review: SUPER NICE KNIFE Summary: 5 Stars
This knife is much better than most of the junk you'll run into out there. I've trusted the Gerber brand of knives since my Dad bought me my first one when I was a kid. I returned the favor this time, buying the LMF II for him and you should have seen the look on his face! "That's a very nice knife" I believe I heard him say several times. And another reviewer was correct, Amazon did actually ship this fairly quickly to Illinois via the Free Super Saver Shipping which can sometimes take a while on media products. They also had about the best price I could on it! Enjoy!!
Customer Review: excellent hunting/survival knife Summary: 5 Stars
buy this knife. seriously. this is a tough looking solid feeling knife. if u are into outdoor activities and might have use/s for a knife, this is the one for you. package just came and the first thing that strikes you is the heft of the knife minus the sheath and the leg straps. feels like you can cut down a small tree with this thing. blade was so sharp it shaved hairs off my arm. no kidding. sheath and straps are of excellent quality. It seems GERBER thought of every which way u can wear this knife. i will have this one sent to Brazil and get tested out and update.
Customer Review: Solid knife Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very good knife. The blade is shorter than I'd expected, but it's probably exactly what the specs say. My fault for not paying attention when I picked it, I guess. Also, the blade isn't as sharp as sharp as some of my other Gerber knives. I can probably sharpen it and get it up to par, but that's not what I'd expect from a Gerber. The knife has a good weight to it, the pommel is solid and the sheath is good. The straps on the sheath appear to be durable. All in all, this is a good knife. If the blade is the length that you want, I recommend it.
Customer Review: Well build, but heavy Summary: 3 Stars
This knife is well built. Overbuilt actually. It retains an excellent edge, has many useful features like a hammer end, lash points, and quality sheath that attaches to my molle gear. The only thing I will say is that it is surprisingly heavy. I already carry a lot of gear and I am not convinced that the weight of the knife actually lends itself to higher quality.
I have had other knives that weigh less and do what I need. Determine if you need this type of knife before you buy it or you probably won't carry it because it is overly heavy.
